Well there's a nandos directly opposite, that's about all I know bar a few pubs. I generally just sit in queues at Brixton never really sampled the restaurants, just the office licence's beverages

Should be mega. Seen them at V Staffs 08 and Reading so looking forward to getting a proper set for the fans. Hope I can do the northerners justice after missing out on my native Blackburn gig.
Brixton has a decent Spoons around the corner from the venue just after Sainsburys from Brixton tube and under the Rail bridge. Loads of Jamaicans which makes for a great atmosphere.

Wow, what a gig! ;D
Was shocked we got there at 5.30 and there was only one person in the queue! Not that I'm complaining meant we got a lovely spot on the barrier on the centre, wayhey!
And whoever's phone Liam took on stage, needs to get that video on youtube ;D
Ohh and there was some right prize tools in tonight, I'm sure anyone stood near me knows exactly who I'm talking about 3 guys off their faces making a mini mosh pit during the whip. I was ready to punch someone at that point - dicks.

I was there. Probably my least favourite time i have seen the boys. Dont get me wrong, I had a good time but they just didnt have the same magic like they did when they took to the stage with the first album.
Songs from the 2nd song dont get anywhere near the same reception as classics fromt he first do. I was always waiting for the next St Jude track.
Good gig, but I just want the plans for the 3rd album to be on the way now.
Alot of knob heads there as you would expect, but, I wasnt blown away by Liam and the boys.

Good gig, but I just want the plans for the 3rd album to be on the way now. I'm sorry but what a completely ridiculous comment! Falcon has only been out for a month, what do you want 2 albums a year or something? We'll get bsides when TOTW comes out next month for crying out loud

Jesus, just because I am not loving this 2nd album people seem to be getting a bit defensive. Shoot me for having an opinion. Listen, most bands who are on the road will be coming up with new stuff for the next record now. I am fully aware the album has been out a month but its been finished ages ago. You think they are going to be sitting around twiddling their thumbs for fucks sake? They will be travelling alot so what do you do then? Yes, pick up an instrament and make new tunes. If they are not thinking about new material now they will be resting on their laurels. I want them to go back to what the essence of the band was. I have mentioned I like the slower material on this album but the faster paced stuff is not up to scratch. Lyrically far from anywhere near their best stuff. I like the album. I dont love it. I dont think they put in a very good performance in Brixton. It was alright. Nothing special. I have seen them 5 times now I think as well as Liam doing a quality accoustic set for Ben Sherman. I know what a good Courteeners performance is and I feel I have every right to say if it aint great. So I have. Mardybum, was that one of the best times you ahve seen the Courteeners? If so, you've missed out on some fucking good gigs.

I wasn't not allowing you to have an opinion about Falcon, I don't care if you don't like it, it's a matter of opinion of course. I was merely commenting on how stupid the next album comment was. Of course Liam will be writing new stuff on the road, as a song writer myself i know you don't just stop writing it's a continuous thing. But they'll be touring now for a while, they won't being going to record songs for a while and rightly so, Falcon should have it's moment. It'd rather them take a while again anyway, better then getting an ok album out quickly
I've only seen them twice and yes I know I've missed out on some 'fucking good gigs' but I thought thursday was 'fucking good' regardless tbh

My comments were not stupid and I stand by them. You have pretty much agreed that they will be thinking about new tracks anyways. Where is the problem? No where did I say I want or even expect a 3rd album out this year. I dont expect another for at least 18 months. I jsut hope plans are ahead for them to better themselves as I feel this album is a bit of a let down.
If that was the 2nd time you have seen them then you would have enjoyed it alot more than me. And good luck to you. I have seen them perform alot better hense me expecting more. But like you said, each to their own.
So, as a song writer yourself, fancy posting some of your work in poets corner?

st. judes tracks are more rocky I think - but due to st. judes being older and obv well known they prob did get a better reception but the falcon tracks are brilliant as well

Fair dos but from the first comment it just sounded as if you wanted them to be in the studio as soon as they finish this tour I understand when you've seen a band that many times you rate their gigs compared to their last, I do it with Kasabian all the time. No Haha, I admire you guys for all doing it but I just couldn't shame nothing's recorded I wouldn't mind posting that

Agree with you ben, didn't go to brixton but I had similar feeling with the other gigs I went to
Here's not the place to be slating them anyway
I couldn't agree with you more though and my reasons shouldn't be posted here
