I've been browsing around a few websites looking at which bands/artists are going to be 'huge' this year and not one has particularly captivated me.
Delphic are massively overrated in my opinion. I've seen them live twice now and each time I've failed to see why they are so raved about. They are not too bad, just not really my cup of tea i suppose. The new New Order apparantly - erm, no!
Marina and the Diamonds - Only heard the single and its shit.
Ellie Goulding - Do we really need another generic artist. None of them have ever managed to compete with Laura Marling; in terms of quality anyway.
The Drums - Boring pop-ish indie. Again overrated.
Everything, Everything - This type of indie does nothing for me.
Local Natives - Sound a bit like Vampire Weekend but shitter.
Two Door Cinema Club - Average.
Hurts - I actually like these guys... mainly because they were once in a band called Daggers (Liam Fray mentioned them in his bands of Manchester NME feature). Daggers were amazing and one of the best live bands I've seen. Hurts don't sound like Daggers but have something a bit different about them compared to the other bands for 2010.
I'm not fond of the way indie appears to be going. Where have guitars dissapeared too? I'm going to take the route of Ant and just listen to the older stuff.

I know how you feel, things are really going down the pan aren't they. Everything there is just sort of "okay", stuff that will fill column inches for the next 12 months between fads but nothing worth getting excited or passionate about, I want bands I can get genuinely excited about seeing. The Drums are okay, not bad but in no way special I don't feel, Two Door Cinema Club are okay, like you I've never really got why Delphic get the acclaim that they do, I agree with you that Hurts are the best band on the list but that's not saying much. Ellie Goulding is nothing that anyone needs now, and Marina and the Diamonds' single "Hollywood" is catchy as f**k and will probably do will but again, nothing special. I remember these lists from a few years back at least contained a few bands that genuinely impressed me. Things are getting very stale, hoping that if it stays like this for another year or two that sumat might kick off nicely like in 2004, a big wave of good bands like. We just need a bit of guitars, I agree with you

I agree with Paul. They all try and be original, but all end up doing the same thing, hense they aren't original. What ever happened to good old guitar and drum music, honest sounding stuff from the heart.

Delphic are okay. Ellie Goulding is class, going to see her. I don't really get Laura Marling to be honest. Love The Drums, one of my favorite bands. Everything Everything's tune is alright. Marina and the Diamonds are really good, love them. Love Two Door Cinema Club too. Local Natives albums a bit boring, couple of good tunes. HURTS have a good song, Wonderful Life. Haven't heard anything else from them. Bit harsh considering only one band has put out an album to be honest, got to give them a chance.

you like ellie goulding but not Laura Marling? anyway, Delphic seem to be okay...really really dont like the Drums, if they are the future its a grim picture. I think 2010 is gonna be dominated by bands on their 2nd album onwards...which is a shame.

Laura Marlings ace.
I'd say she's well better than goulding.
Hope When Exit Calm's album comes out in April it takes the world by storm, truly euphoric and epic band.

I love Laura Marling, I'm going to see her live in April. I thought all of "Alas I Cannot Swin" was flawless. I really don't like Ellie Goulding, I just find her music irritating. Marina and the Diamonds are amazing, bit indifferent about Delphic. The Drums are pretty dull aswell. I'm not familiar with any of the others.

The Drums - Summertime EP. Had a few listens to the EP having already heard the 2 singles and was suprised by how good they sound. Reminded me of The Cure.
Apart from that I think Delphic are pretty overrated.

the maccabees are amazing, went to see them last night, along with the drums, big pink, and bombay bicycle club. Wasn't expecting much of the later three but was really impressed. had the albums but iv bin disappointed with bands iv liked wen iv bin to see them live but these all seemed pretty solid. the drums seem to be a mix between beach boys and in a weird way joy division. Dont judge big pink on just that dominos song.

Yeah The Maccabees are good, saw them at Glastonbury on the Other Stage 09. Saw them in Liverpool a couple of years ago too, they've got a good fanbase.

Couple good acts but hardly any of these guys ever stick about too long.
No guitars (apart from the drums who are pretty wank imo)
