im not sure, i reckon joe will get it by like a thousand or something stupid. apparently joe was 10,000 ahead by the time the shops had closed last night but surely 10,000 people from the facebook group bought it? i bought all 3 versions anyway. will be a great win if they get it

I really hope that RATM win. I mean im not a fan. I dont follow the charts. In fact I hate everything they stand for, and don't even mean anything as music that does well usually is beyond generic. I remember when I was younger and it was quiet intresting to see who would be xmas number 1. Now its just assumed that who ever has just been manufactured by the "x factor" will win. I hate the xfactor aswell, the way Mondays are full of people rambling on about it all. Don't they have anything else to do? I think next year we should attempted to get the Courteeners to be number one.

I hope Rage win as well, though I believe that even if they don't win a victory alone has been achieved. People have managed to stir up protest to the X Craptor and create an opposition to the X Factor, a real opposition, and create panic in the corridors of power and the hearts of X Factro executives, which is nice. I saw that (Insert Blank Vocalist Here) who won X Factor on Sky News yesterday and he was saying how great it is that the X Factor has given him a chance because no record label would touch him otherwise as he just does covers...I'm sorry, but isn't that right? If you don't write your own tunes you shouldn't really expect a record deal? Why is that not right? And you get Cowell in the Sun mouthing off about how it's unfair that people are challenging this (Insert Blank Vocalist Here) to Christmas Number 1, as if its his God given right? In all fairness he's a young lad with his heart in the right place and some singing ability, but if there's nothing special to him and more people want to see "Killing in the Name" top the charts at Christmas then what's unfair about that? I think the end of the age of the X Factor may well be on the horizon quicker than I predicted earlier in this forum. The next year will be the last X Factor I hope. Cowell will pull the plug before the public pull it for him as was the downfall of Big Brother; it will happen one day soon.

Apart from 1 or 2 songs, Elvis only did cover versions or songs written for him. Imagine a world where he never got a record deal.

My rant on Joe's page... Steven Dixon @ Fiona Arwen Davies - Fair enough your 1st point is true. But what about bands who have wrote songs concerning real situations? Songs about police brutality, poverty, politics and other real world matters? Bands like The Clash and The Sex Pistols, who spoke for what they believed in and made a difference? Then someone goes on TV for half an hour and covers a cheesy song and that makes them deserve number 1? No it doesn't. People like Simon Cowell are ruining this countries musical heritage by spoon feeding everyone a load of crap which, is forgotten about by the time the next X Factor show starts. I was pleased with that

I think the Courteeners should get it, though it would be almost impossible, but we can dream
