Been in the news a bit and stuff. Basically if you buy Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine they're trying to make it so that the x factor doesn't get xmas no.1. I think it's worth doing and i'm going to do it, it's only 79p and im fed up of the x factor getting it. link to the group here www.facebook.com/#/group.php?v=info&ref=ts&gid=2228594104 or just get it off itunes. there's a strong chance they can do it.

wouldnt say theres a strong chance they will do it.
but im buying 3 copies, i know its a sony song and all that shit so it seems empty to some, but this isnt anti-sony. its anti-simon cowell. the most hated genius since hitler.
even if it only gets to number 2, if it gets anywhere close, he will know how many people, not just find him annoying for his personality, but hate what hes doing to music.

i think they have, i mean they've got 700,000 in the group so if at least half bought it they'd be at number 2. plus the amount of publicity they'll get throughout the week and they're already number 13 in itunes.

it gives x factor publicity too though
utterly pointless buying killing in the name of, I couldn't care less about xmas number fucking 1
Simon Cowell is like any other celeb, some people hate him, some people love him and he knows that
I don't think he cares in the slightest tbh apart from 'it not being fair on the winner' which is bollocks because they are just a gameshow winner in reality
love it or hate it, I find it easier to ignore it as there are two sides to everything and it's all a matter of a given individuals opinion, as with everything

I haven't been bothered about the charts since I was a kid... I never look at them, even if a band I like has released something! Like Mike said, I couldn't care who's at number 1, it's all bollocks nowadays, there was a time when it meant something just can't remember when that actually was

mike just because there are two sides to every coin it doesnt mean you shouldnt support the one you believe.
simon cowell is successful and i appreciate that but this is more symbolic than a chance to make the charts mean something. but even before this reality music thing, christmas number 1 did mean something, it might not have been great music but at least there was a race.
and giving the x factor publicity is like giving jk rowling money. if it opens a few eyes to the possibility that the show isnt the great opportunity it appears to be then its worth it.
plus i like rage against the machine. good riffs.

agreed, looks like it'll be close this week. as you say though even if they come second at least there's a race for it.

On BBC it says that Rage are heading the battle atm, but Joe has yet to have his single released phisically, so sure he'll catch up. Bookies have re-opened bets for xmas number 1 though, just because of this like

i dont think physical sales will make alot of difference. Morello just endorsed it, should give the Rage track another boost.
