Courteeners prepare for the release of their new album with a sold out Manchester Central show on December 11th. To wet fan’s appetites, the band will release ‘Cross My Heart & Hope To Fly’ digitally on December 7th having just completed the recording of their second as yet untitled album with producer Ed Buller (Suede, Pulp). The Courteeners then go on to headline this 10,000 capacity Central days later. You can access the track from www.thecourteeners.com and in addition a 7” collectable single will also be available with an exclusive b-side. Fans can also pre-order the album at the same time and get the 7” along with their name printed in the album CD booklet. The Courteener's follow up to ‘St. Jude’ will be released in February 2010. A UK tour will be announced shortly. Just got this from the Fly

Hmmm, I wonder if the article in NME this week is just like reiterating what this is saying?!

Probably, it's a little early for a tracklisting and name and stuff, so I'd imagine so.

Yes great news for us all, we've had a long wait for new material. Very nice that we'll get a free track that we've never heard before as well. Love the title. Also the 'name in the booklet' is a nice little touch, wonder if they will accept "Snorting and Cavorting" as my name?? I'd love that

Whhaaayyyy!!!!!!!!!!
I knew an announcement had to come sooner or later.
Thats four things now pencilled in for that week.....
1) Cross My Heart And Hope To Fly 2) Academy 1 3) Parr Hall...
4) THE G MEX GIG.
Cant think of a better way to get into the festive spirit.
Defo gettin my hands on the 7" this time round after missing out on the now infamous Bide Your Time vinyl.
Well chuffed. Looking forward to hearing more.

i dont see the similarities with the song title to elbow personally, only connection is the man who produced it. a bit similar to when people say Kings Of The New Road sounds like a Kings of Leon song, its bollokcs, the only connection is the word Kings!
