soundcity are classic amps. id go for a bit bigger than 30 watt though, if your playing live anything over 40 watt will sound great when mic'd up. but if your just after an amp for messing round, 30 watt should be more than ok

It aint a riviera.
And i think i might me getting a bit more money for crimbo then what i expected, so i might still get the Casino i originally wanted.
Thats pretty expensive for a small amp, the bigger Marshal ones are cheaper. I can say ive heard of the manufacturer but id expect them to be ace at that price.

i advise you not to get a marshall 100 watt, they're quite poor from my experience, proper naff sound. the sound city is pretty expensive, so if your not fussed over valve amps, then get this, better than a marshall any day www.thomann.de/gb/fender_fm212r_egitarrencombo.htm

U may have just put the nail in the coffin my friend. Im after a thick meaty kinda tone...
All i need now is a great amp to compliment it.
And that Fender one is pretty cheap on gak.co.uk
£169 not bad

meaty tone? aye, your the same as me. im getting dot for christmas as you know, and i have a fender amp alreaedy, so that should provide me with the big thick tone im after. fender amps are great for getting that kind of tone, i strongly strongly advise you against a marshall, overrated completely. that fender 100 watt amp i showed you is your best bet i reckon

also, id go for a dot rather than a casino myself, you get the humbuckers (so the big thick fat sound) and its cheaper, and then for the amp get this www.thomann.de/gb/fender_fm212r_egitarrencombo.htm , that should deffo get you that oasis/babyshambles/courteeners/libertines/smiths kind of sound that you appear to be after - im getting a dot for christmas, cant wait

I been lookin up these 2 guitars and i found 2 lines, one makes me want a casino, one makes me want a dot:
"The Casino is a hollow-bodied guitar with two Gibson P-90 pick-ups, it is known for its heavy and rich sound which makes it an ideal rhythm guitar" - Sounds ace to me as i play rythm
"The sound of the Casino is generally thinner and more trebly than a guitar equipped with humbuckers such as the Gibson ES-335 (Epiphone Dot) which is the semi-acoustic of choice for many lead (as well as rhythm) guitarists" - Treble, f*ck no. Treble down, bass up i say.

if your a rythm guitarist, then i strongly recommend the dot. if your a lead guitarist i strongly recomend the casino, as its got more of a twangy Beatles-esque lead sound, most likely due to the P90s.

aye, it depends which one you get actually cos certain ones are quiet despite being semi-hollow - which one have you decided upon getting?
nah, def maybe all the way, be here now is better than heathen chemistry + sotsog though
