inventor of the solid body guitar died at the age of 94. good man, still played live until the day he died. big innovator in music, we all look to the beatles etc as great but without this guy there would be none of it. legend

I agree, massively influencial man to music, in both the guitar invented and the style of playing. Though when I saw the headline that he'd died I was more suprised that he hadn't already died than that he was dead, still sad news for the music world. Big influence and may he Rest In Peace

You beat me to it, got it as a message on facebook, real shame. But I told my grandad who is responsible for teaching me about him and he didn't have a clue. In all honesty I heard some of his music and I wasn't a huge fan, but music aside like you 2 said, it was the way he went about his business and the fact that he bought something new to popular music. God bless him.
