Woo-hoo the Capello era begins. Thats all i need, Lineker, Ian Wright, Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson and John Motson chugging over a bunch of overpaid twats doing a poor job beating diddy teams.
Anyway, the guys on sky sports news were doing my head in this morning, comparing last night to the croatia defeat. Does it not occur that last night was a friendly, and even the France game next month doesnt matter and that most of your players will have one eye on the league and cup competitions(Rooney, Rio, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard etc).
So does last night really matter and is the defeat of the mighty swiss herald the new era of world cup winners?

It was 'OK' at best the first half was a bit poor the second half was much better. They seemed to be a bit unsure of what they were all doing sometimes. But not to the point were I ever thought we could loose. A good start for Don Coleone I think he can sort them out, I like his new approach to discipline with the mobile phone/eating together thing. I think his pre game team talk (below) might have been all the motivation they needed!!! 'Se lei non gioca bene. Lei me parte nessun'alternativa di la tagliare i seni di madri'Translated it says something along the line of 'if you don't win you leave me no alternative than to cut off your mothers breasts'

Ouch, cant see George Burley taking that approach with our lads :L
Im really gutted that Capello got the job, gives yo more of a chance of winning the WC2010.
Surprised Matthew Upson played, and Wes Brown for that matter. Something wrong with Matt Dawson and Micah Richards?

Was a very good start obviously france is going to be the tester but very pleased so far. Just odd obviously that Richards didn't play, I suppose from capello's perspective though he can only go off what he has seen which is brown playing right back and micah playing centre back.
Also the decision to give david james 90 minutes was very odd, particularly if he is building the side for 2010 at which point James will be 40, had to be a half each for Rob Green and Joe Hart
