Just got back from Glasto!!! It is the best place ever!!! I thought it would be a worse place to have a come down than what it was!
My first visit and i am going to be going back every year! [beep!] amazing!!
It is as if all the beautiful woman in the world are solar powered as I have never seen so many stunning girls in one place!!! BUZZING!
Anyway, to the music. I saw
THURS:
Maximo Park - I really like this band but were not very good - poor sound.
FRIDAY:
The Rakes N.E.R.D Fleet foxes White Lies Friendly Fires Lady gaga - Filth. She is basically just a sl*g - however, suprised with how good a show she put on. I dont know much of her stuff so was interesting put it like that. Not my cup of tea. But she was not wearing much so that was good. Ting TIngs - Hate this 'band'. However, had to sit through Gaga and then ting tings so was in the perfect position for........ Bloc Party - brilliant! I wanted to go and see Jamie T and the doves but the 14 people I was with were here so had to compromise. They were great.
SAT:
Rolf harris - novelty - waste of time. I am 100% he fell asleep after every track he did. I am also certain he only did 3 songs but repeated them throughout. AWFUL! Dizzee rascal Kasabian - epic Bruce 'The Boss' Springsteen - what can i say. For a man of 60 he was uncontrolable. What a show he put on. Was brilliant and I loved it. He had to be told to stop he went on so well. Hats off to a great performance.
SUN:
Status Quo - pulled out the classics Yeah Yeah Yeahs - brilliant set Roots manuva - not his best performance Nick Cave Blur - Unbelievable. They sound even better than their records. Damon Alban - although his mid song banter was woeful, was fantastic! His voice was flawless and carried brilliantly. Phil Daniels even joined them for parklife.
GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Tried to see Maximo Park but was too busy and sound was shite
Friday
The Maccabes The View (rubbish) Lily Allen Specials The Streets The Doves Bloc Party
Saturday
Jason Mraz The Script Dizzee Rascal Kasabian The Boss
Sunday
Tom Jones Blur
Spent the rest of the day walking round visiting everywhere we hadn't been - well worth it!! It should be one of the wonders of the world
Roll on 2010!!! I love it!
Gutted courteeners didn't play would have been well good to see them there.
Currently making my way through all the TV coverage and enjoying home comforts!

How did you see both the Doves and Bloc Party chezza? I was desprate to see Doves but no one would come with me so stayed with them to watch Bloc Party. Did you only get to see the tail end? Regarding the View, I was not there for them but heard they had technical problems thorughout.

That's dissapointed me to hear that The View were rubbish, they are without doubt my favourite modern band. I hope it was technical problems and not Kyle being a little to toxicated.

Kyle was battered throughout the whole 4 days.
My mate saw him in the Chill and Charge tent doing Jam covers and apparently sounded quality even though he could hardly talk. I am sure it was only down to technical problems. The roadies were apparently constnatly on stage trying to sort it out.

The thing is that Kyle Falconer is one of the most gifted musicians around IMO, he can make words that sound like drunken rabble sound like clever whitty bouncy catchy songs, really reminds me of Lee Mavers in that sense. Just a shame that he is such a piss head, stories that I have read tell me that he is worse than anyone else when it comes to drinking. Hope he gets it sorted because he can do some magic stuff.

yeah we left doves early before the rush and caught the end of bloc party from the edge of the field - everyone was going mental looked quality...
Maybe I should give the view another chance - just was a bit boring I thought....in contrast I saw the Maccabes before only knew one song and throughly enjoyed them - defo my new discovery of the weekend!!

Glasto was class, absoloutely superb. I went to that Johnny Brown acoustic set where Kyle Falconer played and all, that was a good do, nice to hear Big Issue. (And it wasn't Jam covers, it was one Jam cover...guess which one as well ?) Kasabian, Specials, Ray Davies and the Streets were higlights for me, was very impressed with Bombay Bicycle Club as well Proper good
