Yeah I've learned from it - No more captions competitions! That's so good of you that I'll make that the compo & I will take you up on the offer Ant, sorry that you won't be able to win a copy though. If you can write an Introduction to the competition with guidelines etc then that would be much appreciated On the screenprint: Good argument on not using St. Jude Ant, have to agree that the image has been used enough now and it's time to move on... What else could be used as a screenprint on the flag? I still want to keep this relatively simple & quick to make...I don't have the talent to do a detailed screenprint! Any image could be put on if I use transfer paper instead. So far we have just come up with the sailor backdrop what Mozza used on the tour...Anything else instead? A simple band logo perhaps?

no cb it does not have to rhyme =p a poem is whatever you want it to be.
just for the record, we need to have some sort of rules with these poems, maybe ensure its about one certain topic or something to ensure its easier to judge whose is best!

Uuuuuuuuum, I'm fine about not getting a copy, so long as people are writing good poems. Don't be daft it doesn't have to rhyme, just has to be good. Not sure what topic it could be on, but do agree that it will be easier to judge if it has a topic.
Anyone got a decent idea for a topic for the poems?? I can get going on an introduction to the competition if people give me ideas, thankyou!!

sorry to intrude on this thread but its doin my head in! Dont do it again You can get other programs that are FREE, just posted in the relevant download thread Anyway... Poem topic... err... What about how you got into The Courteeners? or How they make you feel? Listening/Live//Meeting them? I can see a lot of song and lyric quotes if cleverly used That's my only thought so far and maybe it would get more interest as we all can relate to the subject

welll i personally would go for something more broad, i.e. not courteeners related =p.
personally i think we should find a class image, chosen my yourself darren, could be anything, like a picture of a skyscraper or something, n then see what the photo inspires in terms of poetry. that way everyones on the same wavelength but theres room for creativity.

It's been rattling my brains, can't think of a topic, but you are right dontask, it has to be a fairly broad topic, something that everyone can easily relate to.

Don't know about relationships, that stuff kind of makes me cringe. I was thinking about writing about something that you have lost, you know what I mean, I do that stuff loads so I think that judging it will be easy, and everyone has lost something/ someone at some point. They are the 2 ideas on the table so far, will consider mine and dontasks but will keep the forum open for the ideas for another 24 hours. At which point after work tommorow I will draw up the basic structure, specifications and all that. Mite aswell take full charge of this so keep it all coming and I will start writing up tommorow and keep everyone informed

I can't wait, it all sounds ace, will have a word with you tommorow Darren about how long it could run, because really it all depends on how long it will take you to produce the CD, so let me know how long it will take.

A rather depressing topic! 'Loss', Ant think carefully mate, you'll be commiting suicide having to read and judge a load of poems about loss, so so very morbid! Should do something happier

Your idea in the first place Ellie, and thanks again so so much, it's an awesome idea. Haha, suicide?? Don't be daft, I love the topic of loss, such a great thing to write about. Everything that I write is depressing, I love it that way! Will think things through at work tommorow anyway and see if anyone else comes through with a decent idea before tommorow is out.

You love the topic of loss?! :S Strange boy! And plus, aside from sanity, I haven't felt loss badly. And I doubt you wanna read about me losing my marbles

You love the topic of loss?! :S Strange boy! And plus, aside from sanity, I haven't felt loss badly. And I doubt you wanna read about me losing my marbles I lost my marbles about 6 months ago, under the settee somewhere and never got them back, must've been hoovered up What's wring with loss, it's easy to express, and the best thing about it is that usually when you've written about it, whether it's once or twice or five times, you forget about it and no longer dwell on the loss, being the reason I like it. Won't do loss then, obviously not of interest to anyone other than my selfish self, after all, I won't be entering the competition
