I think the Second Folio is top. I like the production on "Revolver", prefer the acoustic version but it sounds class I reckon. "BoJangles" is a good song. The other three are where the money is though, I think they should have been on the album, or at least one of them. "You're the Man" is lyrically spot on, very nice and angry as well. "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch" is superb and all, well into it. "Forget the Weight of the World" is top, but it isn't Jesus and it deffo ain't Barrack

I quite like Revolver from the Second Folio, I can't help but think there's a couple Beatles references too, like the "Spotted you, fools on a hill" or the intro to the song, which reminds me of a Beatles-esque intro, really sounds like it's building up or something...

Aye I agree on the "Fools on a hill" reference, I noticed that. Someone on here earlier pointed out the Moz references on "Will it Be This Way Forever", they've got to be intentional, loving them "Angel as you go down"/"Angel Angel We Go Down Together" and "Change your plea to guilty"/"I've Changed My Plea To Guilty". Both top tunes and on the bonus tracks version of Viva Hate

I love the way Liam shouts the first line on You're The Man. Great.

I've been a bit worried about how Falcon would turn out to say the least but I shouldn't have, it's definitely a cracker! I must admit I did find a dodgy copy last Sunday (after hearing we wouldn't get it for Monday), played it on loop for a while as I knew I'd be no good for anything through the week. Like people have said the songs have been arranged well, they all fit in and compliment each other, production is nothing short of magical & second folio is a lovely follow on for St. Jude lovers but done even better, every track is a blinder Oh I'm in love with Falcon already, just playing the second folio on loop and can't stop it! Err... sounds like I'm excited... well I am, roll on Lincoln

Its a good album, although not a patch on St Jude. Must admit I got bored a few tomes listening to it, and this was only on the 2nd or 3rd day.. whereas with St Jude it was play that track again, then another, then back to that one again, then another one.. for months.
Sycophant's a classic, but would it have stood out as much on St Jude? Dunno.. I suppose they had to progress and that can only be a good thing, but I definitely prefer the kick-you-in-the-bollocks gusto of the likes WTYSL, Cavorting and the like, something which Falcon is severely lacking.

I dont think WTYSL kicks you in the bollocks. its more like a long spell of wind.
i do think falcon might be liking one more heavier tune, but St Jude was full of em, got a balanced live set. its all good.

I dont think the album knows what it wants to be. It doesnt flow and it doesnt go together as a body of work in my opinion. St Jude flowed, this doesnt. I agree with dontask, it lacks a heavier tune. I think the slower tunes are really good on Falcon but I am really disapointed with the faster paced songs. Liam is certainly in Love, but come on, lets have a bit of rock and roll on there as well. Its lacking a kick, some ummph.
Revolver hasnt lived up to the hype for me either. I prefer the acoustic version.

I think it is in the shadows of St Jude. Definetly not as good. Not even close.

I rate both albums equally
They are both very well arranged, tracks flow and are all in the right place
I think lyrically, the songs on st.jude are stronger
The production and general progression as a band however in falcon is quality and another level, much bigger sound now and they are moving in the right direction
If you combined the early lyrics of st.Jude with the 'new' sound in Falcon, flawless comes to mind...........maybe album 3? Not that I'm finished with falcon, love it

I think its just as good as St Jude, just in a different way.
St Jude = Raw, aggressive album
Falcon = Mellower, musically better, produced.
