FINALLY, we have more arctics news. the lads played "Go-Kart", "Pretty Visitors", "Dangerous Animals" and "Crying Lightning" at a gig in New Zealand. There are no videos or recordings yet (as far as i know) apart from a really bad recording of "Go-Kart" that isn't really worth listening to. According to people who were there, "Crying Lighning" was the one that really stood out. Can't wait to hear some recordings

I hope it sounds more QOTSA influence so dickheads don't listen to them and it don't get ruined by the radio man.

Nah I dont want it to be more QOTSA influenced really, they're better than that. I've full faith it'll be very good though. I wouldn't mind a few smaller gigs to get them back into the saddle, G-MEX was wrong on every level, a proper crap gig and ruined by the crowd completely

Few bands around better than Queens mate. Their heavyer stuff has always been better IMO my fav song is The View From The Afternoon.

Aye I ain't disputing that, I don't mind them myself either and they're immensely popular for all the right reasons. But I don't want the Arctics to clone them as they have verged on in the past, they can do better than that

I know man, after hearing last album I think that's as close to QOTSA that they want to get, there is a fine line between influence and copying, let's hope they draw the line and don't cross it.
BTW, is that ginger dude producing the next album??

hes no doubt influencing it in some way going off the latest news.
what i see is that yes they are both very bass heavy bands n all that but the key differences are the fact that turner is english. and his lyrics are better. i like QOTSA especially songs for the deaf but nothing on arctic monkeys.
im sure it will be fine, i havent seen turner put much of a foot wrong.

One of the tracks I heard, I think it is Pretty Visitor (?), sounds more like the White Stripes than QOTSA.
I am very excited to here good studio versions of the tracks so I can have a real listen and form a proper opinion.

Indeed it is Cal, indeed it is. There are a few songs they have in their set now that many wont recognise and probably mistake for new tunes.

reckon there's a chance Da Frame 2R might even be on the album? They've been opening sets with it since the apollo gigs, although they never used to play it live
