Suggestions for the B-Sides artwork?

Since I'm working on the artwork for the "The Story So Far" project, I though you lot might want some more cover art???

If there any audio/video you'd like some artwork for then post your request in here or maybe you've been making your own, we all would like to see it don't be shy

Strange that, I've just been looking at Ambers art on deviantart, proper talented if you ask me, I'm jealous as f*ck ;D

Yeah it would be nice if S&C get some different styles of cover art and take away the pressure for me to do em all

I'm surprised that since my previous back in December last year, that we have had no takers to make their own artwork!

I've always come across various bits of fans artwork when looking for 'downloads' of bands, it's rare to find Courteeners covers for anything or anywhere else come to think about it!

So I thought I'll get to work on more and this will be the place for us to discuss the ideas and suggestion of future covers.

B-Sides

I've been looking through some past threads & posts and found a nice suggestion from April 2008!! I totally let it pass me by
I think the timing wasn't right, anyway Andy had an idea to produce a "St. Jude B-Sides". This was dismissed after a CD would have been out of the question but there's nothing stopping me making some cover art, CD art or even a full-on booklet.

It would look exactly like St. Jude but with the B-Sides from all the singles released from the album.
All you would need to do is burn off the tracks, print out the artwork, trim them down and job done


Changing the colours??
The promo was Red & Black and the Special CD had that greyish look, so what colours could we go for with this B-Sides?
Black & White might look good?


Tracks & Burning!
Obviously it'll be all down to you to 'acquire' the tracks if you haven't already got them and it'll only feature the B-Side from the singles released off St. Jude... So nothing from That Kiss!!

I'll leave that one down to you lot

I like how all the cover versions fall at the end of the tracklisting, I'm sure all these will fit on a single CD.

To start this "B-Sides" cover off I've just had a bit of a tinker in photoshop to try out colours and initial ideas.
Also it might encourage you lot to say what you want it to look like



The Original but with just "B-Sides" replacing St. Jude, The Black & White Version I thought might look good & same as first but reversed.
All done very quick and roughly with a view to evolve them into something we all want

I like all them the reverse one's cool or the negative one. Both look good not to much messing around to be done...the reversed text looks good!!

Thanks for your thoughts Ian, Since those one's I had an idea to use the colours of the single promos, I have missed out Cavorting because it never had a 'coloured sleeve' promo!

Maybe a set of 5 can be made for you to print, these with a white version so you can have them as slip-in covers, remember how Pulp did Different Class?? Something like that

I'd love to get them made up properly but I can't see it happening

Moving on swiftly!

I replicated the back inlay yesterday and it look pretty much bang on to the original.
You would have though it's pretty simple to copy the back to St. Jude but theres some subtle changes to the font throughout the booklet - so I had to modify the font quite a bit.

Nevermind the boring shit, here's a preview:

The Border is just to define the edges

Now I've just got to do a test print to see how it looks then I'll be working on the inside of the booklet!

Do you want it just like St. Jude's with all the lyrics?

I like these aye, the back cover is impressive. Is this going to be a proper download or just the artwork?
I've often thought Courteeners should do a "Hatful of Hollow"/"The Masterplan" type compliation

I never got round to printing the 'tester' today so that'll be done tomorrow & yeah it just the artwork, imagine the problems with even producing 25 copies with all their copyrighted tracks?
So I'll leave that for you lot but something (ahem) might turn up for you to DL to burn on your CD

Errr...I'd love to get a series of these printed including a ready-to-burn CD with artwork... Who knows though?? If I can get it done by DIY then I'll let you know but I won't do it if it looks too shoddy!!

I'm going to try out a black version tomorrow to see which looks the best...we'll probably end up with about 20 versions to download ;D
