It says on the side of my bottle of ketchup "once open, refridgerate and consume within 8 weeks".

We always kept the ketchup in the fridge when i was younger, so i assumed it was to cool your food down  Now I know better, but still stick it in the fridge, where it belongs |

the fam keeps it in the fridge but personally don't mind, only use it on sausages anyway.
suppose if i was to think about it i would prefer it at room temp but chilling it makes it seem fresher, wonder if it would last longer in the fridge? i would guess it does.

Cupboard. It's got shit loads of vineger, sugar and salt in it.
That's why it keeps for so long.
The only reason that it says to keep it in the fridge for 8 weeks is to encourage you to throw it away and buy another one.
