I was at the Birmingham gig last night, what a fecking awesome night it was.. The Phonics were immense as usual. The Courteeners performance was outstanding I was one of only about 20 people scattered across the arena getting involved during their set singing and bouncing along, got a few complaints from stupid teenage girls who were only there to oggle Kelly Jones, maybe they forgot they were at a f**k**g rock gig. a few people around me though did comment on how good the Courteeners were and one even said they were the best support act he'd ever seen. good form. hope to see both bands on tour again next year. ;D

Never been to a gig, but can't imagine the dull atmosphere it would have without jumping and shouting.

I think that anyone who hits someone at a gig, whether it's 'protecting' your girlfriend or anything else, is the lowest of lows, a gig is a joyous occasion to celebrate the awesomenous of a great band and everyone should get along and enjoy themselves. Besides, I think that hitting someone to 'protect' a girl is really desperate and a poor excuse for showing yourself off. Poor sportsmanship.

Yes your right what the f*ck are you doing so called "PROTECTING" your girlfriend!! Its not Belson..Its a fucking gig and yes you should be up the back sharing a fucking lighter if your not into the "madness" but to say there the lowest of the low is a bit strong....Surely a nonce is the lowest of the low or a fan who passes judgment yet has no knowledge or understanding of said situation?? MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS!! BRING ON THE BACKLASH!!

Fastfuse, I hope you aren't making a reference to past predicaments. Sorry about the 'lowest of lows', I didn't mean the lowest thing you can do in life, I meant the lowest thing you can do at a gig. Should have stated that.

ive had fights at gigs before, like punk gigs mainly.
But at the cribs last yeah in the Gmex i was wasted, crowdsurfing and that and some lad started punching me in the head. freak. that was hilarious when i got down.
and at the Arctic Monkeys some prick started on me and my mates for trying to go for a piss. that was funny as f*ck aswell.

But at least you didn't start it ey!? Alot of people fight when they've been drinking, not an excuse like, but it's dead common. I myself don't, I go softer if anything. But this is different to trying to 'protect' someone, fighting is stupid anyway, but using protection as an excuse is rediculous.

Its the beer that turns your normal fan into a complete cock..if you cant handle it then why drink?
I have to be honest if i go to gigs with my girlfriend I always keep my eye on her.....I wouldn't think twice about giving someone a slap if they kept treading on her or threw beer on her. I wouldn't just do it for the sake of it. I just dont want anything to happen to her thats all....shes only little...ha!!!
But i've never been to a gig with my mates with the view to cause shit i.e fighting people who go to the bog..thats just fucking backwards!!!

Maybe if we were all in the situation, then we would be cautious of our girlfriends, but when you are single and go to gigs by yourself, or don't go at all, then it seems silly.
And fastfuse, people still drink if they can't handle it for one reason, they think it makes them look big and clever, that's until they are on their arses.
