This is old news but Glasvegas' Christmas album coming out on December 1st. Sadly its download only apart from a new 2 disc version of the debut with the Christmas album on it (thieving buggers!). This is the single from the album, www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00f3wlp/Zane_Lowe_29102008/ (skip to 32 minutes in) It's called "Please Come Back Home" and its rather good!

Don't do Glasvegas, don't do much modern to be honest.

Glasvegas along with The Courteeners were my 2 big tips for 2008 this time last year.
So I'm pleased to see how both have done.
The two bands are total opposites, but Glasvegas are every bit as brilliant

Sorry if I am being lazy and missed it somewhere on here, but how can they be bringing out an xmas album? they have only just released their debut. What a load of bollox. Trying to take full advantage of a release before xmas.
I cant believe people are still talking about this band.

Nah, I do genuinely think that there isn't any cashing in on Christmas with this release...well at least not with the band, you can already see that the record label are, which is fair enough really. They're a top band though and James Allen is a gifted songwriter, not to discredit the immense sound that them as a band make. The debut was one of the albums of this year

I totally disagree, but understand that a fair few of you on here like them so fair enough. I just think they are massively over hyped and boring. Really do not see the fuss. But hey, thats just my opinion.
Fergal, do you know how many tracks this album will contain? Is it all new material?

5 tunes, one's a cover. My only criticsism is that it's gone down to 5 tunes, it was going to be a full on album, and what with no physical release for it on its own, without the debut to acompany it, I fear it'll get forgetton eventually and just be seen as bonus tracks

James Allen has always stated he's wanted to record a Christmas album. Its not a case of cashing in.
One of his favourite records as a child was the Spector Christmas album, and seeing as Glasvegas sound like they are produced by Spector it makes perfect sense.
Personally I cant wait, the track I already have is superb

I am personally shocked that bands such as Glasvegas get this much press when bands like the Rifles and Elbow (up until a few weeks back) get hardly any recognition.
I am not going to talk about Elbow, but the Rifles for me have better tunes than glasvegas and are very fine lyricists as well. The music world is a strange one.

Elbow are probably my favourite band of the past 20 years bar for Oasis, I wont argue with that.
But Glasvegas deserve all the praise they get also.

Elbow are probably my favourite band of the past 20 years bar for Oasis, I wont argue with that. I def agree with that. They are mine as well. Though, I would only e three if that was the case. They are my fav ever band is my point. But Glasvegas deserve all the praise they get also. That I cant fathom I think they are vastly overated. I dont see much longevity with this band. Then again, we are in a time where shite music seems to grow old and stays at the forfront of the playlists of radio stations.
