hahahahaha "benitez a clever man" Whats he won since being manager again? Oh yeah a flooky champions league Wow what a way to nonchalantly dismiss the greatest Euro cup final win of all time, if not 1 of the greatest football games of all time.

Great manager he may be rafa, he says the strangest of things, that seem to make very little sense.

Rafa looks like tom jones' long lost spanish brother with less hair haha
irrelevant yes
Not a clue what he thought he would achieve in what he said.........disturbing haha only kiddin
My favourite champs league finals are uniteds first and second dramatic wins (english clubs don't do it easy)
And liverpool wern't flooky in the final I was avin a laugh, can't help windin up the scousers, coming back from 3-0 down takes some doin. Only lucky bit was Milan being shit at pens haha (like chelski this year)

i have to admit the united vs bayern final was stunning, not quite instanbul but very good.
as for what he'd achieve, if he wins the title race the headlines will all be about how rafa beat fergie at his own game which is quite a good thing, but more than anything , someone had to say it lol.
but yeah i really think the effect of these mindgames is overated, with the possible exception of keegan. like i said if liverpool win it'll be all about how rafa beat fergie at mind games when n if utd win, it will be all abotu how rafa was the next victim n i think its ridiculous, in the past united have simply had the strongest squad and a top manager(if abit of w**ker) and that will be the case this season again.

I'm a Man U fan and I really like Rafa, he's a really intelligent man and he knows European football better than anyone. But he really lost the plot last week, to me it just seemed completely off the cuff...He had no reason to say anything....well not one I can see anyway. And what happens the next day Liverpool drop points away at STOKE, forgive me for pointing out the obvious here but if you want to win the league you HAVE to win those games. I'd go as far as say Liverpool WON'T win the league this season and I wouldn't be surprised if Villa finished above them in the league. No one has hit a league winning form yet United are starting to look that way but we do have some massive games coming up....Arsenal are under achieving Chelsea where awful on Sunday and I think theres problems behind the scenes. Liverpool have a squad of great players but they never all play at the same time.....f*ck IT I THINK VILLA CAN WIN THE LEAGUE!!

i agree but they also have top form vs the big teams which has kept them up there, they dropped points in all them games like fulham n stoke in the first half n still finished top come jan 1st, dont count them out....but yeah liverpool will finish 3rd i think...utd top. chelsea will get their act together and villa will break top 4 =) i think. its kinda sad to see gunners droppin out cus they were always the one with the least money so wile it might be good to change its still the chelsea/utd monopoly really.

how is the new keegan? seriously? the media might be branding it as a rant but if you read the transcript it comes across as a well thought out statement. and apart from that accurate and true whereas ferguson the red nose scottish prick has to resort to callin benitez "disturbed" or "ridiculous" rather than putting forward a decent argument. benitez is a very clever man, keegan however was always volatile as proven by his lil hissy fit at newcastle. more or less agree with that, I though Benitez was spot on to be honest. Now I absolutely hate the premiership but for me Liverpool are the lesser of two evils and I'd rather they won it than United. although in the grander scheme of things I couldn't really give a toss. Our title race with Leicester City is far more important to me.

thats fantastic, it's about time someone spoke up in defence of Utd. We're the most hated team in the country and, fair enough, we're proud of it. But as has been proved, Benitez was well wide of the mark, and simply trying to cash in on anti-red feeling. He now joins Keagan, Wenger, and countless others that have risen to the bait. From a footballing point of view, Benitez can handle cup competitions as he's proved with two appearances in the CL final, but his team can't compete over 38 games, especially so if their great captain ends up in jail..

hardly half truths and misinformation, id put anything said off down to his lack of understanding of the english language.
all this n i dont hate united really, when chelsea were top with mourinho i was firmly behind them. and the captain wont end up in jail. as said, the only people getting behind united are united fans, im a preston fan n i can acknowledge that its right.
i dont think hes fallen for the mind games just yet but i guess we'll see. i think the mind games are abit poor to be honest united have just been regularly the better team. im sure you'd be much happier blaming your dominance on that than fergusons snide digs?

Exactly its not really mind games, benitez just thought fergie was trying to start them and he over reacted. Its just been seen as Fergie starting mind games when really he was only stating the truth, liverpool are unexperienced when it comes to winnin the league, chelsea and united are
All the top 3 haven't been too consistent so far and United are just glancing it
I expect liverpool to fall further behind as Benitez will rotate and rotate and they won't be consistent
Most of the country does hate United but I guess that comes with the dominance and everything that Fergie tries to get away with. Other managers/players do the same its not just fergie, he has just developed a bad reputation for it, bit like liverpool and crime when really manchester is worse

liverpool and united generally perform better in the second half on the season. if anything it will stay close but i guess united have that "play shit but win" thing liverpool dont have. if liverpool play bad they drop points.
fergie isnt the only one, chelsea players are another example and i think its even worse when players do it compared to managers. jamie carragher is a prick for it.

the telegraph article is also laughable. it just decided to load for me.
any "this season" quote is shite as benitez didnt quote this season it was just a newspaper trying to be different and replying with favourable statistics.
the second charge is laughed off but the fact remains that fergie was cleared.
but yeah any bitching about fixtures can f*ck off, if you have a bad run its balanced by a good run so its stupid anyway. i never agreed with benitez' comments about tht in the first place but i guess fergie does moan more than most about it.

utd 1 - liverpool 3. lmao well chuffed, dont see liverpool ever catching them this season but its still nice to see. as for utd's penalty, i dont like the rule but i think it was defo a penalty, however the rule needs changing, nothing was gonna happen there.
