tell you something man, i definitely consider utd the lesser of two evils when it comes to them n chelsea.
BUT, benitez's little popshot at fergie was right on the money.
on the other hand i cant see anyone other than UTD topping the table. still abit to go yet mind.

Benitez = the new Keegan. Fergie's mind games are simply amazing.
I had a £10 on MUFC winning 2-0 with Vidic first scorer. Gutted.

how is the new keegan? seriously? the media might be branding it as a rant but if you read the transcript it comes across as a well thought out statement. and apart from that accurate and true whereas ferguson the red nose scottish prick has to resort to callin benitez "disturbed" or "ridiculous" rather than putting forward a decent argument.
benitez is a very clever man, keegan however was always volatile as proven by his lil hissy fit at newcastle.

hahahahaha
"benitez a clever man"
I haven't laughed like that in a long time
Benitez rose to Fergies games and lost big time
Mourinho used to be smart back or ignored Fergie instead, winning the premiership
Rafa just shot himself in the foot by moaning before Uniteds big game V Chelsea.........very smart
Whats he won since being manager again? Oh yeah a flooky champions league

im guessing your a united fan? the only people who havent supported his argument are those who are associated with united. mind games? all he did was say liverpool arent capable contenders? and how has he lost? yeah they drew against stoke but that happened before, nothing to do with the mind games, just liverpool being abit pants on the field.
cant complain with alan irvine at the mo though =) wouldnt mind big sam .
hes still a clever man, hes took liverpool very far, im not a liverpool fan, im a PNE fan so theres no love lost but i can see it.

i agree but liverpool dont have the spending power of united chelsea or city so its alot harder. how do you break the mold without a massive cash injection these days? well...you cant really.
call that champions league victory flukey all you like but ive never seen anything like it in football.

dont bring city into this! they may have all the cash, but who are they actually gunna sign? players like scott parker, bellamy and santa cruz cant push you into a title race. city may have money, but what world class players are going to want to go there? i no robinho went there, but theyre not even the best club in manchester...
theyl end up just signing decent standard over inflated premierleague players, and not world class talent.
hughes will get sacked, therl be a crap team spirit and the arabs will look at each other baffled as to why they havnt won the league.

Eeeer, Mike, it wasn't a fluky champions league, it was a god damn well won champions league actually, no fluke about it. Though, I can't see us going on to win much this year again. Same old same old.

well, it wasnt your bog standard champions league final win. they got themselves in a mess, but did well to get out of it and win it. no arguments with them at the time.

Benitez argument was not well thought out. Fergie has had his fair share of sanctions, fines, touchline bans, etc. from the FA. Fergie had one touchline ban/fine this season (which Benitez did point out) and he, and Carlos Queiroz, were fined after their comments about Keith Hackett following the FA Cup exit to Portsmouth last season.
Benitez has fallen for Fergie's mind games like Keegan and Wenger have done in the past. The fact Benitez had gone to all the trouble of researching those 'facts' makes him look a little pathetic especially at some of the nitpicking he does. Rafa contradicts himself a few times.
'During the respect campaign Mr. Ferguson, and its a fact, he was charged with improper conduct after comments made about Martin Atkinson. He was not punished. He is the only manager in the English league that cannot be punished for these things. ' - Rafael Benitez
He was charged with improper conduct thus he was punished. Its not even worth Fergie responding to this.

i dont know the story behind the martin atkinson thing so i wont go there but i will agree the comment looks ropey. only it IS feasible to be charged without punishment...
what he was saying is, yes he gets punished, but only when he gives them no choice, ie when he stormed on the pitch. he gets away with things other managers might well punished for, its these 50/50 decisions were he gets the favour.
i know mate, city will never really be contenders unless they build it slowly, but like i say, liverpool still cant compete when it comes to spending.
like i say, i dont think he has fallen to the mind games. liverpools short comings will be down to their performance on the pitch as ever but you'll get all the united fans praising fergie for liverpools poor form now which is fuckin ludicrous.
