About
I'm sure we all know bit and bobs about about The Courteeners formation so I would like you help to put together their history. If you don't know, S&C are in the process of putting together a fanzine about the band, " Not Enough Paper in the World" will be the first ever dedicated publication on The Courteeners! One of the features/articles will be " The Story of The Courteeners" and will contain key moments in the rise of the band, with that being represented by a illustrated 'kind-of comic' strip from childhood to present day. I have got a few artists/designers willing to help with the illustration bit and I'm in the process of gathering all information from the internet; interviews, gigs, reviews, anything about them! Where I need your help!I could do with all your 'true' events, stories and happenings from their childhoods up until the first gig I don't want personal information like addresses or anything to do with their families and friends Could do place of birth, childhood heroes/influences, first learned instruments, previous bands.... stuff like that Then things like first gig dates for when they were solo/other bands to when they started out as 'The Courteeners'. So any links/stories/info etc you find/know about can be posted in here  If the band or management are reading...I don't want the management or the band to worry that all their personal stuff will be given out or ought like that, so if you think it's a bit of a sensitive story/info, please PM me first as I'll have to judge weather it can be shown or even used. Got to keep 'em sweet ;D

something like they all went same school...Cardinal Langley RC High School according to wikipedia! come on the catholics!
and i think liam's been using that red guitar since he was a teenager.

Sent you some stuff didn't I Daz about Liams really early stuff. I have the Q magazine interview from when Liam painted 'what the world is waiting for' on the wall. So this is a call out to anyone who does, that is if Daz doesn't already have them. I just remember these as the 3 biggest interviews they have done. Also, while it comes to mind, does anyone have the interview where he slated dick head Tom Clarke, if that was in an interview. I'm fair enjoying this  Awt embarassing though? We want the meat and potatoes Not that i can think of lol i think Michael might of worked at Sainsburys years ago too, not sure though my memorys a bit rubbish. Got some class photos from back in the day might just scan em in and post em anyway  |

The bit which I love is that Cupello has a degree in International Politics and Campbell has one in something like advertising or media, can't remember, it was in the second big Q interview about 8 weeks back, what a cool thing to have a degree in cupello, I don't think he would have a problem getting a job if the band split. Conan is the only one who didn't go uni, I think he worked in Sainsburys aswell, and no shame there Conan I'm a proud member of the John Sainsburys minimum wage bregade.

songbird - Thanks for saying you'll ask about the photos & thanks for the info on the School, so was it just Liam who attended that School? You must know them all well then? Maybe you could help out by asking them what info we could use. Maybe put in a word that we would appreciate some inside info on past bands etc?? D.O.B/place of birth/schools/jobs would be nice if they don't mind  We are not trying to stalk them or become obsessed fans or ought like that just want to have the history & story as real as possible. I mean it wouldn't be a very good "Courteeners Story" if we haven't got the correct info or just stuff everyone already knows, some of the lads interviews have been a bit tongue in cheek, so you don't know if their just winding up the interviewer sometimes, or is that just me?? We deserve the truth lads No worries  They all went to St. Thomas More Primary School (where Marks mum was a dinner lady), then Cardinal Langley high school (where Liams mum is an english teacher). Not too sure on past jobs, if i remember rightly Dan used to work in Sainsburys haha ;D Never heard anything about them being in other bands though, but i'll ask next time i see any of them, not sure when that will be like but i'll see what i can dig up! cuppello mentioned he went to school in prestwich a while ago in a conversation with him, god knows how schools were mentioned. i also remember campbell saying he worked at a 'well known supermarket' in an interview once. when he talked about crashing his mums car in the garage when he was getting a pizza out the freezer. ha!

Shame I can't help more, I keep looking on the net and will post if I find out good. I have a friend who lives about 3 roads away from Liam, been asking him for ages to go and speak to him but he aint into the courteeners so he's being a dick. Never mind. Songbird seems to know them well enough.
Another thing, I think that I read somewhere that Conan was a singer/songwriter on his tod before he became a courteener, was he or did I have a strange dream.

Thinking about it, it was on conans myspace when he said he fucked it off to be a courteener. He was the only one to come ready trained for Liam so to say, coz Conan has loads of guitars I've heard, must have taken a while to collect them like.
