im not too keen on that choice of 3 thing, he sounds like a rite southerner on it......weres the sheffield accent?
although i love arctic monkeys, i recon they should call it a day, then theyl be remembered as one of the best bands.....instead of making an average 3rd album which will take about 4 years to come out! alex turner has even said he wants to get away from the whole sheffield image, which is wrong i recon, as it is their roots.
atleast miles kane has moved on from lsp and is now focusing on the rascals.

probably did overwork themselves. but i still think hes one of the best musical talents to come out of this generation, the way you all talk about morrisey is probably how i'll talk about this dude in ten, twenty years time. plus hes made 3 top albums, and his "choice of three" thing is ace. monkeys album number 3 in the works aswel. guess we'll see. I don't mean to offend you...but why do you think Choice of Three is ace? Like why? What is the attraction? And I've no stigma against spoken word, when done well. And I don't think people will talk about Alex Turner in the same way as people talk about Morrissey now, Morrissey is a one off, a pure phenomena of lyrics, poetry, sex, gender, politics, everything

Monkeys quitting now, no way, suppose if they make an average 3rd album they will have to be stupid to go out on one, the right time to go out would be after hopefully a good 3rd album, not heard enough yet.

As always threads are turnin into stuff non-related to the topic, Darren won't be best pleased haha
Alex Turner is great, class songwriter, love Arctic Monkeys and last shadow pupps are ok but he is no where near Morrissey, completly agree with fergal on this
Two great albums though

Nah I can't see it being much of a different direction, I don't want them to go any more QOTSA influenced than they already are...occasionally on FWN the influence got a bit too much really, it was on the verge of sounding silly. And I don't reckon Choice of Three is that well written, you can use simple sentances to really good effect but it hasn't, sorry to continously disagree with you, the artist formerly known as beadsworth , but I don't reckon its well spoken or well writen! Though I did to a remix of it cos its a fairly decent source: www.myspace.com/thelistedcrimesI do a bit of mixing in the spare time....more for my own pleasure than anyone elses, I'm awaiting a compliment on it one day but not holding my breath haha
