true they wont go down as a classic band, but if all we had was guitar bands that were going to make 10 albums the world of music would be a very very boring place.

You don't need 10 albums to be recognised as a classic band. Look at the Sex Pistols, the Stone Roses, The La's, all classic bands, none of them had more than 2 albums. I get your point like but I'd rather a world of musical diversity that still has quality control and doesn't allow Alphabeat into people's ears  |

i think its a little closed minded, there not trying to be musical greats. theyre just making cheesy pop music, and theyre doing well at it. they wont be remembered as greats but i enjoy listening to them a hell of a lot more than i do the sex pistols.

The Proclaimers, Madonna, The Beautiful South, The Lightening Seeds etc etc all made great pop music without being shit....not Alpabeat! Come on! The Sex Pistols are one of the greatest bands of all time, and Never Mind the Bollocks is a truly truly great album and they changed British, in fact, world music forever. One word in any Sex Pistols song is one million times better than a whole album of Alphabeat! "A thousand nights of..." RUBBISH No offence though |

and yeah kokainekinney i thought that as i typed it lmao.
the thing is punk isnt my favourite genre of music and i dont think that sex pistols are the best punk band by a long way. they did alot for music at the time but ive never really been a fan.
i know alphabeat is shallow and everything but its catchy and i cant help but like them, i do like most real bands more though.

Ah right, nah the Pistols aren't the best punk band...one of them though. Ramones, SLF, Angelic Upstarts and many other bands are more or less as good I'd probably place Ramones above actually, and the Clash stand agove all of them If you wanna listen to proper pop music put "Ghosts The Jam" into youtube and revel in that...proper pop music! i think SLF put them to shame. john lydon is an absolute prick anyway, have you seen his butter advert? and the im a celebrity and the incident with kele okereke (bloc party, bad spelling) at the isle of wight festival. and yeah i dont think alphabeat have anything on the clash or the ramones or SLF. i just dont like the sex pistols. there one of those pedastal bands that people love when they shouldnt.

People should love the Sex Pistols. John Lydon isn't a prick, I don't reckon, he says it like it is, and all this butter advert and I'm a celebrity stuff is just tongue in cheek and he can get away with it frankly, I don't mind him doing stuff like that, he knows its all a big piss take and he knows we know he's after the money and as long as he makes no claim otherwise who cares? I'd do the same. And the Kele Okereke incident happened at benecassim, not Isle of Wight, and there's no factual account of what actually happened so I'm reserving my judgement! Though I don't believe John Lydon made any racist remark than Okereke, he's above any of that I believe. I reckon it was just a case of, as a lot of people said, Lydon was holding court with a lot of Spanish bands and Kele Okereke was pissed off at this and thought he'd be oh-so-clever and make a fly remark about PiL reforming. I wasn't there so I can't make any proper comment but it looks that way
