What the NME should do as well as ball lick new bands is introduce 12-16 year olds to older stuff go back over classic albums and explain that there was good music made before last March (no one particular). Because 80% of the new music out now is absolute dog shite. Dont copy Razorshite copy the Stones or The Who. If you want to rip anyone off go to the source of all rip offs not some two bob diluted version.
I mean has anyone seen the front cover this week, that fat shite out of a band called "FUCKED UP". You cant tell me a kids going to look at that and go "thats it.....thats what I want to do. Tuck me cock in and play shite songs that not one persons going to care about in six months"
f**k ME THE FUTURES DARK, THE FUTURES X-FACTOR!!!!

Aye I know, its a bleak state of play ain't it! Q's alright, nothing special though. NME's more of an instutition now and thats why it gets let off, but it doesn't justify its pettiness. And then when a truly great band comes along, and NME doesn't ignore them, they're pigeonholed as an "NME band". In this week's issue there's a letter from Jon McClure, having a pop at the NME over why they shouldn't rip him and you know what, he's completely right. Its a crying shame that someone with a brain and real opinions comes along and puts his career on the neck to say things which need to be said and speaks out...only to be put down and mocked by a music press which don't understand him regardless of whether you like Reverend and the Makers or not, Jon McClure is someone who shouldn't be put down or laughed at for having other interests than selling his soul, number 1 albums, Jo Whiley and sitting on a bank of cocaine...he should be given a platform to voice his opinions rant done
