THEY ARE NOW WITH THE OVERATED TRIPE THAT THEY ARE MAKING!!! this is probably a bad place to be saying this but i often think the same about oasis. n i can imagine fast fuse thinking im not such a good man anymore i think its a shame that you listen to their new track, "shock of the lightning" and think, this track would have been right at home on "definitely maybe". it shows they haven't evolved much as a band, like for example, "favourite worst nightmare" in contrast to "whatever people say..." is a big difference. although read a noel interview n he says the new album is very different and im open to change my mind =) Thats what the forums for disagreement's over musical differences, everyones entitled to there opinion. Oasis are my favorite band one of the reasons being is I've been in to them since 15 and I'm 30 now, i understand what your saying they did just live of there name and past glory's for a longtime (97-02) But its not just the music it was the attitude, the hilarious interviews. The country hadn't seen anyone like that since the pistols, there always going to be my favorite band because they always seem to mean it more than anyone else. The Arctic Monkeys are a great little band but there a bit boring. I personnel need more than good tunes. Oasis are like my girlfriend....I can see the faults but i still love them, if this album is 'grooved based' or a new musical direction they should have done this 11 years ago, but they were lazy. and cal in my opinion the new tunes pretty good....

Aye, I was fair impressed on first listen but it does nothing for me after a few listens of it. Its lazy and rushed more than anything, and it shows

Aye, I was fair impressed on first listen but it does nothing for me after a few listens of it. Its lazy and rushed more than anything, and it shows Noel said in an interview that it is called 'the shock of the lightning' because it is rushed, which didn't help by the looks of it, there is nothing to it at all, sounds the same right the way through with nothing that grabs your attention.

Aye, you can tell its rushed. Some of it just seems thrown together, and its a shame cos they've wasted that "Come in come out tonight" thing, its a proper hook that, given more care to the rest of the tune it could have been class.
Falling Down still immense though

i see what fast fuse means, and i agree to an extent but it has to be coupled with a love for the music which i just dont have for oasis short of the obvious tracks.
in all honesty i prefer it when a band sticks to the music rather than slagging off other bands and music, and yeah basically getting some coverage in the media. the arctic monkeys are a good example of this but the main one for me is the coral, who are ironically good friends with the gallaghers.
edit: sorry its nice to be able to discuss oasis without my friends having a go...
i dont like their stage presence either. they do nothing for me live apart from give good singalongs but any popular band can do this.
i do love wonderwall, dont look back in anger, live forever, cast no shadow, songbird, some might say, and stop crying your heart out though.

The music is the most important thing, alot of what said is tongue in cheek anyway, Noel took it too far when he slagged of Jay Z/ Glastonbury. It verged on music snobbery which is stupid. But if it wasn't for them would there be any Arctic Monkeys Courteeners (I could go one buts its boring edit: sorry its nice to be able to discuss oasis without my friends having a go... i dont like their stage presence either. they do nothing for me live apart from give good singalongs but any popular band can do this. i do love wonderwall, dont look back in anger, live forever, cast no shadow, songbird, some might say, and stop crying your heart out though. I just find it funny that they sl*g everyone off. sometimes there right sometimes there wrong.

Aye. Saying that, Jay Z's not shut up about the Noel thing and cos of that he's destroyed the legacy of a great performance. Its overshadowed by the Noel thing now, people remember it for the Wonderwall stint and not the great performance that it was.

I don't mind some of it really. And aye, James Blunt did me proud at Glasto by saying "In England, its Jay Zed, not Jay Zee"... never did I think James Blunt would instill such patriotism within the cell of my heart
