to me at the Fratellis gig i went to last week...... I was excited to wear my "Can you play guitar" t-shirt to the Fratellis after all your responses to my previous thread "Band t-shirt etiquette" and its safe to say, it got a lot of attention (some unwanted attention from drunk boys!!!) But the funny thing was when I was stood near a friend of my sister's and out of no where, over the noise of a sold out gig i heard these words ..... "you've got a nice jacket but got no spine - please vacate this city of mine" I understandably went nuts!!! I had to show him my t-shirt, and then he went nuts!!!! This guy was amazed that I had even heard of the Courteeners, never mind was wearing one of their t-shirts! He then had to show all his friends - it was all very exciting! But now for the best bit. The person speaking these words was a friend of my sisters friend, and then he (my sisters friend) told me that he was very likely to be the Courteeners tour manager for when they TOUR AUSTRALIA!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I now have something to look forward to - The Courteeners touring Australia, and I dont care if they dont come to WA, I will most defiantly travel anywhere in Oz to see them! But what are the odds of that happening, me wearing a Courteeners t-shirt deciding to stand near the only other 4 people in a packed out gig who knew who the Courteeners are! Quality!!! i love it when things like that happen at gigs! and stop slagging the fratellis off! i mean, yh, the second album is utterly appauling, but the first album was mint! dead happy and upbeat and the live shows are rocking!

I know what you mean - being able to talk about the Courteeners (for how ever brief a moment) made my night so much better!!!
And as for the Fratellis - I couldnt agree more, i love the first album much more than the second.

yeh but come on....they are crap. theyl never go down as one of the better bands in history will they?! good to know that there is atleast 2 courteeners fans in oz.....do u recon this guy will actually be a tour manager for them? or was he just having a laugh...as he is only 1 of 2 courteeners fans in that country?!

Oh I'm sure there are more than 2 of us Courteeners fans in OZ - I'm already converting my brothers and sisters, and I come from a large family This guy does actually manage bands for a living - there a few Aussie bands he represents so I'm quietly confident that he might actually be telling the truth! Even if he doesn't manage them, the thing I'm more excited about is the prospect of a Courteeners Oz tour .... Bring it on!!!! The Fratellis going down in history as one of the better bands is kinda irrelevant to me - I just like em' is all  |

what a very very confusing story, I dont like the Fratellis new stuff, the first album was great and I really like it but the new one does nothing for me, its just tripe to be honest and it all sounds the same, and when I was listening to U2's first album last week I figured that Mistress Mabel had basically the same baseline as a song of U2's first album, yet I can't remember which.

I've never seen them live, I rely on the internet, TV and radio, and if I did not have the internet I would still be in to them! I saw Mr Fray live at an instore in manchester and he was great but it probably isn't a touch on seeing the whole band live.
