Images not displayed

It seems that the majority of images are not getting displayed but I have refreshed a few times and they do appear in the end.

So if you don't mind persevering with it, you'll get there in the end

Could be any number of reasons for this though, like the time of day, image servers etc.

Mediafire are currently carrying out maintenance that's why images are not displaying at the moment

Icons/smilies seem to be taking an age to appear at the moment -they do appear in time, so it must be down to a lot of people using proboards or something

Nothing to do with me dabbling with the settings today

I'm really getting fed up of the images on the forum being displayed as MediaFire's "file not found" image

I don't know if there is a difference in reliability if I upgrade to the pro version of mediafire??
If anyone has the pro version let me know OR if anyone knows of a good file hosting site (NOT the free ones) or that kind of thing then please give me advice, thanks.

I have looked into switching to a paid for 'host' countless times before but there are that many it's a bloody mine field with a lot of sponsored sites that are not worth a carrot!
The thing is I don't really need a full webhosting account, just the file hosting side of it...

Something cheap and reliable would be nice...Hmmm... although just reliable would be better

Nah mate I've tried photobucket before.... the free ones just aren't up to hosting all the forum images/graphics.

I'm just going through the main forum images and editing the codes so they will at least be the right size "file not found" and not the ridiculous full page file not found!

I have booked a "ticket" with mediafire to ask them about the problem so hopefully they will get back to me soon.

No luck in finding a cheap paid-for hosting site...yet...still looking!

I got a reply from mediafire this morning:

Thank you for contacting Mediafire. We have been in the process of making upgrades to our website recently, one of which is adding image servers so that the problem you are experiencing currently will no longer occur once we have the new image servers online. We have been aware of the problem occuring recently which is why we are adding new image servers to avoid this in the future. While you should still be able to download your files and view them once they are downloaded, currently you will still experience issues with some of your files not appearing in the image gallery.

I spoke to our technical department yesterday regarding the image servers. The new image servers are copying data at this time. They are estimating a few more days before they are online.

I apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused and thank you for your patience in this matter while we work on improving the site for our many users.

For crying out loud!! Now the servers are down... even after last time when they said the services will be back fully working, there were so many images not being displayed.

I know the forum isn't very fancy or ought like that but it's nice to have the banner & stuff but even they don't display or take an age to come up... I need help!!

I just can't find a provider who just offer image hosting, please don't say photobucket etc.. as they do have similar down times like mediafire and I need constant image display.

I know I've already asked but with the forum having a lot of traffic at the moment I thought I'd see if anyone knows or uses a hosting package with my requirements - Cheers.

Yeah I get what you mean now cb.
I think to do that you have to have a proper website/forum, then you have these things called nameservers that are then pointed at the domain name and then it would be like snortingandcavorting.com/images/banner or whatever...

Never mind that though, I have finally found a file host but I have to wait 24hours for the account to be set-up, it's like pay-as-you-go, they handle all file extentions and even can have all the DL's from them, that would make all the forum audio DL's much quicker with no shitty pop-ups etc...

Not fully cluded up on what they do yet but I'm sure it will all be easy to understand when I get the account through.... can't wait to finally have S&C back properly ;D
