I'm still loving it ;D
I was like you, at first I didn't take to the new versions but now it's always an album I'll end up playing when I'm listening to some tunes!
St. Jude has made The Courteeners 2nd in my last.fm top artists! (I wish I could get a 'top artists' of my whole lives listening)

I had a listen to it the other day for the first time in a good few weeks, and its one of them. Its quality, they didn't let down with it really. One or two of the tracks aren't as good as they should have been or are live, but you expect that really. I often wonder what someone would think if they listened to the album for the first time without hearing anything of the band before, it'd be mega to have that experience. But aye, this one will stand the test of time I thoroughly enjoy this album

obviously the tracks took a few days getting used to, but tbh i thought it would take a lot longer to get used to the new recordings. having had it a couple for months now, i feel im in a better place to make a judgement. If It Wasn't For Me was better in its original form, and im not convinced by How Come =/ . Kings Of The New Road, on the other hand, has grown on me loads! love st jude <3

If It Wasn't For Me was better in its original form, and im not convinced by How Come I agree! The demo of If It Wasn't For Me was far better, and How Come is more suited to being acoustic. Everything else is more or less spot on though, I reckon

Love it love it still! Could listen to it everyday - courteeners tracks on my pubs juke box are in the most played section as well! Only track I'm not to keen on (but did like it live) is how come...
always listen on a Friday whilest doin house work - hate cleaning but it makes it bearable!
Have educated anyone who will listen in my little town about the amazingness of the courteeners...

mega. every song is better than the demos bar How Come, its a bit all over the place for my liking, and they should of had the guitar intro on Not Nineteen Forever but apart from that, a classic.

hi, we were spoiled a bit late last year, early this, something was always happening, gig after gig,...academy, ruby, acoustic shows, single releases, then after the album release its chill time, festival season etc. feels a bit wierd really, roll on october........, st.jude is still the first lp i shove on when i'm in me den, as debut's goes i think its top notch, and i have every confidence that the more important follow up (as far as the press, record exec. tarts etc) will be as good or better, i hope the festivals go well, sure they will, it can really send a band into the big time, just look at the kaiser chiefs he jumped into the crowd with an inflatable and now he thinks he's freddie mercury playing infront of 35.000.

I must say I aren't sure about the newer version of fallowfield hillbilly - the guitar intro is good but like for example when it goes can you play guitar my boy can you f*ck, I think it just sounds better on the demo version.......just me......
