Im also defending the lad all the time I read one of his books and hes had a tough time which I guess hasnt helped him Iv spent the last year saying 'hes sorting himself out' but everybody just laughs I hate the way ppl hound him when hes clearly not the only rockstar on drugs and its funny tht the press have hardly mentioned his early release from prison and how hes supposedly clean but managed to mention when he got sent down That cause there are sad ppl that feel better looking at ppl who have it worse than them

Correct, as tragic as his former drug addiction was (read his mums book, its powerful stuff) hes not the first to be in that position, hes not the only one now, and he wont be the last. What's more, hes one of the finest songwriters Britain has seen in the past ten, fifteen years or so, an immense performer and a superb wit. The press find any excuse to dig into him for even the most minor of things, yet its evident out there theres some bright young pop star thing who's far more into smack than he is. On the flipside of that, there's all the morons who think he's incredibly cool cos he was on drugs and think that makes him some sort of "rock n roll star", the "pete doherty is innocent" thing annoys me cos clearly he isnt I spend enough of my time trying to convince people his former lifestyle means nothing and they should sit down and listen to both the libs albums and shotters nation (not to mention the odd tune off down in albion and the blinding EP)

I heard on the radio this morning that teenagers think they are mis-represented in the press because of stories of 'youth crime' and images of ppl like Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty! AM and PD teenagers!!!

What a night.... he was excellent and with no set list was funny that he just played what the crowd asked for was weird he played a whole collection of Kate Moss songs tho Cant believe I got face to face with him after and I loved the way he fucked off the press and stood facing away from them and chatted to the fans
Gutted my mate got aaa passes and didnt know till 9 when he went to get in so could have gone backstage beforehand but I still got a smile and a wave off Pete and saw one of the most fantastic acoustic gigs. When he played some of those Libertines songs you could see in his eyes how much he was loving it and watching somebody perform who has that much love for what playing is magic. He prove tonight he can do it just as well and better without the drugs! Cant believe that guy got onstage for You Talk....I have to admit he was pretty good and it all added to the suprise of the night....with Pete just playing enjoying a fan singing his lyrics to him. and when Pete got us all singing Manchester is wonderful aww I loved every minute of it Mesmerising
What a legendary night

my brother went to this, said it were a quality night, a few tunes that shouldn't have really been played, but compensated by the opening 3
