how many people here are from manchester and that?
i know its a long shot but im tryna sort meself out a few gigs there but with most of the venues it all about how many tickets you can sell.
was just wondering how many people off here would fancy it.
told you it was a long shot!

speaking from (sort of) experience, a lot of stuff you have to do off your own back - offer to play for free, or for beer or whatever - especially if you are trying to get a gig or stage time at one of the larger-ish/popular venues/nights. Also, Try going to some "open mic" nights, student places and what not, just gig to f*ck until you start getting a bit of recognition. Its like getting "experience" in a way but if you can go to someone and say "I played to xx people this night...and xx people on this night as well" then they are a lot more likely to give you another gig. Unfortunately theres not a great deal of money to be made, in fact to start with you might even start off losing money by doing these gigs for nowt.
