Hard one
1. stone roses - the stone roses 2. definately maybe - oasis 3. revolver - the beatles 4. whatever people say... - arctic monkeys 5. st.jude - the courteeners
(could also have included a Bowie, Smiths, Coral, Fretwell, KOL or libertines album instead of st.jude)

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not Beatles - Abbey Road Strokes - Is This It? Elbow - Seldem Seen kid Oasis - Definetly Maybe
Tha is my favourite on the top of my head. The ones that I have been listening to the most recently anyways. Its funny how this is a Courteeners forum yet no one has them as their fav.

Nah I don't think that its too obvious. Its just cos for me, The Courteeners didn't hit it as a classic with St Jude, probably just for me cos after seeing them live a lot of times prior to the album coming out no album could ever live up to it, but its still a great album, just not a personal favourite. Plus, time generally defines whats a classic album or not. Though St Jude is an album that when I'm 39 I'll listen to, I reckon.

In no order: The La's- The La's Stone Roses- Stone Roses The Beatles- Please Please Me The Smiths- Meat is Murder The Velvet Underground- Velvet Underground and Nico
Cole Contenders: The Beatles- Rubber Soul U2- Achtung Baby Arctic Monkeys- W.P.S.I.A.T.W.I.N. Oasis- Definitely Maybe Joy Division- Closer The Smiths- The Smiths Stone Roses- Turns into Stone (the compilation)
So many to name but I'd go with that.
About the old band thing, all the best bands are old ones. I could probably only name about 4 or 5 modern bands that I like, I well prefer the old stuff. And how some of you can even mention The Twang on here makes me smirk.

Also is it only me that thinks the first Cribs album is the best? I used to think that the New Fellas was the best bet now I reckon the first one, its just got this proper good quality, its fair dark sounding, I dunno. Only tunes that let it down are Direction and Third Outing
