the tax on cd's is ludicrous in japan.
It is cheaper from people living in japan to have cds imported from europe than to buy them in japan.
Obviously a lot of money leaves japans economy this way, so as an incentive they usually add extra tracks to albums (b-sides or singles not featuring on the album) to encourage people to buy them in japan.
