I find it all quite amusing really, especially when people expect you to put yourself into a 'group' cos you mention in general chit chat a couple of bands that you're into, you then get the immortal 'oh, are you indie then?' I still get it now all the time in my twenties & I'd always assumed that'd die out once I got past 16!
I honestly haven't the foggiest what I am. Nor do I care... or care what anyone else is, or when or how they got into a certain band... or whether they wear the appropriate dress code... I just think it's rather nice when you meet people who are into the same stuff and you can have a good old natter about it. It's much more fun that having a 'I'm a better fan than you' debate anyway!

I probably look like a scenester cause I ake an effort with myself and im a 17yr old girl but I dont use it in the terms of how someone looks anyway I also went to Leeds fest with wellies and shorts so dont get me wrong but I think of it more as people who cant do anything unless its seen to be fashionable and I guess thats what I meant with the earlier comment by which people sl*g off music because they are too scared to try something new I also went to my first gig at 13 and go to gigs all the time, meet the bands etc but I only do it cause I love the music and I like chatting to bands to let them know its appreciated. Anyway I hope I havent offended anyone by my comment earlier on because I just laugh at people who are now turning round and saying that The Courteeners are good when they lauged at me for listening to them last year....same thing happened for my with the Klaxons
And I think on the subject of abitoverdramatic's comment we should arrange some sort of forum meet up at a Courteeners gig or something cause I think there is nothing better than meeting people who love the same musci as you do...I guess thats why I love going to gigs so much

I wasn't accusing anyone off here of judging people cos of how they look, that was just a general complaint I have cos I've had 'indie' people make comments about heels and thongs once as well I remember, and it's a sort of 'oh I wouldn't wear that kinda thing', but done in a way which is a bit of a 'you're such a silly girl' patronising way! I don't think anyone's offended anyway, it's obviosuly just a gripe that a lot of people have :-)
I'm up for meetings and whatnot anyway, I'll talk to anyone. Literally!

Yeah when I went to the last courteeners gig I wore a short backless dress and platforms - and my friend who had never been to a gig before and had the best night of her life wore shorts and a top.....but it's bloody hot in them crowds and I'm short so why not wear that! but we got some funny looks! I'm up for meeting up at any gigs.....
as for groupies....I'm such a groupie....first time met the band we were trying to break into the dressing room and I got all excited when they came out! But so what bet they love it! Courteener stalking is now recognised as a sport in my little town! lol!
Loving the idea of a meet up though....

yeah man, be good to meet some people on here some top guys - and gals on here on the subject of them getting "big" - I couldn't care less who likes them - they are a top band and deserves all the attention they are currently getting - they'll just keep getting bigger I reckon as for being an "indier" ? (that the right word?) f*ck knows what I am - some days I feel like wearing band shirts, converse etc, the next day I feel like wearing lacoste and k-swiss - stuff like that don't really matter what you wear if im honest

Well said I can totally change my appearance from one day to another or wear the same clothes for 2 weeks..before anyone says 'ought I do change my undies ;D ...I've got comebacks for when my girlfriend starts to complain about it, the more common one is "I'm naturally clean" ...that's after I've sprayed it in lynx several times! I'm sorry to say my carbon footprint dramatically increases when I find a new favourite t-shirt. I'm not a old crusty either, well some may think of me as that but what do they know

Ha I am like that...some days i skinny jeans and converse, other days im etnies and combats and I also wear trackies a lot cause I play a lot of sport so I dont think I can be 'classified'! Just think of all the meet ups we will be able to have when we have our forum t-shirts and can spot each other in a crowd! Then Darren will have a new 'crusty' t-shirt to add to the collection!
I think an alcoholic meet up should be arranged some time
