Fair enough! I'm no forum elitist, the amount of time you've seen them doesn't determine you're love of the band...but I know someone who I don't think anyone suprpasses in his love of the band

No way can anyone detemine that they are the bands biggest fans by how many times they have seen them. I have never seen them live, we all have our reasons for not seeing them and it doesn't mean that I am not as big a fan as the rest of you, thats just bollocks. Take Fergal himself for example, he has never seen the smiths live, because he wasn't around when they were, but his love for the band is much bigger than alot of us. I don't think it's fair to say thatyou are a bigger fan than anyone else on the board, we are all massive fans and we can't compare at all.

I know they were handed out like, just didn't see anyone handing them out, maybe more people were needed as not everyone leaves a gig from the same exit etc yh that's what I found. I plonked meself outside one exit and had got rid of all of them in about 10 mins, maybe even less.

Welcome to all the new members In particular the worlds biggest fan of The Courteeners, thischarmingman! This made me laugh, we all know we are big fans of the band but that's some statement mate! Who you trying to impress ;D I have to agree with the replies, I'm in the same boat as Ant, as I haven't seen 'em live! YET! Not through lack of trying & many other reasons I still get the enjoyment of running the forum and reading what you lot have said about the gigs and that - does make it harder every tour I miss! Anyway thischarmingman, I hope to see you about & would love to hear your stories in the forum, get writing in the gig section Cheers

ok ok,maybe i exaggerated a little but i would say i was a pretty good fan along with the rest of my mates. at the appolo gig on the friday me my bro and a friend spent 7O quid on train tickets from dundee to manchester then bought tickets from the tour manager danny for 15 quid each payed for a travel inn 54 quid then went to space after the gig and spent rather a lot.all this after seeing them in dundee on the monday and the barras on the tuesday, anyway, thats how i would say i was a well good fan.
One other thing, how do you get a pic underneath your display name? cheers jon x

No, websterdundee, he's not trying to say that at all. Didn't you read what he said?? And few people put more time and effort into the Courteeners than Darren! And aye, thischarmingman, that is commitment, I dunno if I'd go even as far as to pay £70 for train tickets to see them!

Aye, go onto "Profile" up there, then "Modify Profile" then go down to find the bit saying "Avatar URL" and post the link to the picture in there!

Oy, don't start saying that I don't think you are big fans, because that is huge commitment, no doubt, but none of us are bigger fans than the other, going to more gigs proofs nothing.
Like ferg says, no one puts more effort and commitment into making the courteeners big than Darren, yet he has never seen them.
I wasn't saying you aren't big fans because you are commited but it doesn't make you bigger fans than the rest of us, so don't go fucking about saying that you are better than us because you have been more, we are all big fans, and websterdundee don't go calling people d*cks because you will give yourself a bad name on the forum and you don't want that.

i wasnt looking for an argument, that kind of does determine how much you like them, we may be all the same e.g. fans, but we follow them through and through. it's good to know and have the courteeners officially say that they appreciate us on stage by saying "if it wasn't for that lot from dundee then we wouldn't be where we are today"

ive already addmited that i exaggerated a little when saying i was a 'top top fan' but i do class myself as a strong follower of the band, seeing them in manchester spending around 200 quid altogether on booze, trains ect even after seeing them in dundee then glasgow in the same week is a good commitment i would say but as webster says we arn't looking for an argument, were all on this forum for the same reason and thats because we are fans of the band. x x

...therefore knowbody is a bigger fan than anybody else, no matter how much youv spent on trains, we are all big fans of the band. people on here havnt seen the band, others have seen them 10+ times....it doesnt make you a bigger fan than anybody else.

. "if it wasn't for that lot from dundee then we wouldn't be where we are today" the album and live act got them where they are today.
