Being the intelectuals that we are ( ) its high time we got talking about novels. what are everyones favourite books on here? personally its "a taste of honey" by shelagh delaney, apparantly mozzers a big fan too, its mint, about this girl in the north west in a proper bleak area in the 50s trying to escape the humdrum expectations of her class and her mother, but by trying to be different ends up the same. to kill a mockingbird is also great, everyone should read that

yeah To Kill A Mockingbird is a classic, really absorbs you.
studying English Literature at A-Level and really enjoying Spies by Michael Frayn for the modern novels section, beautifully written and something a little different with a great twist in the plotline!

But if you want a read about Rock N' Roll excess thats the one BRILLIANT if your into that kinda book, i am n all, you wanna read "The Stone Roses and the Ressurection of British Pop" basically for the 100 or so pages that document the hideous excess in the recording of The Second Coming. Highlights include Ian Brown and Mani eating nothing but pizza for a solid month, Ian Brown weighing 16 stone, Mani killing a dog during a 5 a side football match, the band buying Ford Feista's each for destroying purposes and John Squire watching Led Zep videos for 24 hours cant beat some good old fashioned stupid rock'n'roll excess

I had to do To Kill A Mockingbird for GCSE, it was the best thing i've had to read. Books i've read for myself are usually autobiographies of musicians & that; Touching From A Distance about Ian Curtis(Joy Division), Last of The Rock Romantics about Pete Doherty, Bound Together and Russell Brand's book(that one was actually bought for me though )
