god feels like forever since I was here but bonjour to everyone!
Whats been happening with the band? presume they are currently recording album number 3? any other info at all, new tunes at all?
Hate this period in-between albums, Posted shit loads when st.jude came out, a long pause, then posted shit loads when falcon came out
Hope some of the regulars return when album number 3 drops...

The album has been recorded and is in the final mixing stage. Going to be released in September with a 'shit load' of gigs to go alongside it according to Liam.
New tunes 'Save Rosemary in Time', 'Lose Control', 'Why Are You Still With Him?' & 'Welcome To The Rave' are pretty much dead certs to be included and overall they have recorded about 18/19 tunes (should mean plenty of b-sides and bonus tracks) and it's supposed to be big, loud and heavy! A departure from previous records.
There's gonna be a single and firstly a free download put out before the album so that along with a release date and track listing should mean we'll have plenty to talk about in the next month or two so here's hoping the board kicks into action soon.
Welcome To The Rave......

Nice to see you back on here Andy! I used to be fergal_41 back when you frequented the forum, if you have facebook then please like the fan site me and hatfullofsmiths have made for the band which seems to be gaining legs: www.facebook.com/#!/CourteenersWeStand I agree these in-between periods are annoying, and never usually this long! It seems we're on the cusp of a lot of announcements and whatnot, album out in September, there's reasons to be cheerful. I've huge hopes for this one, as much as I love Falcon and probably rank it above St Jude as an overall work it was quite a down tempo record and by all accounts this one is a lot more hard and fast...something to get excited about. Did you go to the Hull Uni gig on the Falcon 2010 tour? That was rowdy as, one of the best times I've seen them and the only time they've done a spontaneous encore

September? Surely an album before festival season?? Falcon was around the same time if I remember correctly, the festivals were used to play some of the new tracks. I'm getting impatient for some new tracks now like I was before Falcon was released. What makes it harder is the new tracks I've heard sound top.

Falcon was Feb 2010, this one will be a little later - hence why they are doing less festivals.
I expect them to gig through Autumn & Winter and then finish the tour of album 3 with the festivals next summer.
This record has taken a little longer, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I feel an announcement coming very soon if the final mixes are being finished. Could have a single/free download very soon.

just seen this on the BBC website
Manchester indie rock band The Courteeners have fans in high places, with local royalty Morrissey and Noel Gallagher both declaring their love for the quartet. Having known each other since school, the group led by Liam Fray have developed a sound often compared to the Arctic Monkeys, full of amiable melodies, blunt vocals and emphatic guitars.
Returning to Reading + Leeds for the second time and releasing their third album in September, The Courteeners are on the cusp of following their geographical brothers in to greatness.
