There was a few but that's to be expected, I think the open air/festival type gigs attract them especially. Once the band are touring again, I don't think it will be as much of a problem. The Apollo wasn't too bad at all.
I enjoyed the gig, thought the band sounded good and played tightly and looked like they had a lot of fun. Liam looked cool as anything & the two new tunes sounded even better than they did in December. That could only be a good sign. Roll on September....

Also did anyone manage to get any decent videos of the new songs? Love to have another listen to them.

I really wish they didn't attract so many dickheads. Ruins almost every gig these days, almost not worth going anymore. Yeah, i noticed a surge of dickheads started going to 'courteener gigs around the time of the oasis split!... some proper scum head thugs in their 40s latching onto them cause theyre trying to hold on to the manchester music scene. i remember being down at the barriers for the MEN gig when liam went to the podium at the back to do some accoustic songs, its like they didnt want to be there, all they wanted was acrylic/not 19/wtysl so they could push and hit people... which is why i opted for seating at the apollo, had its pluses, sat with frays, campbells and paynes family!... I suppose it comes with getting your music to the masses though, always going to attract some wankers!

I know what you mean but there's no need for the negativity, yesterday had a much better atmosphere and was more peaceful than Haigh Hall or Delamere, and the band absolutely nailed it. The contingent of beered up laddy types are dodgy but don't let them put you off some of the best gigs of your life. My only complaint is not enough new tunes. Courteeners we stand

I guess my experience may have been dampened as the time they came on I was drenched in piss, had a ripped jacket and was surrounded by people snorting all sorts. Also seemed to be surrounded by people looking for a fight.
New songs sounded huge though.

New songs sounded huge though. Yes! Let's forget the louts and talk about the more important issues. I can't believe the difference between Lose Control & Welcome To The Rave at the Apollo and then last night. I must admit, I have been annoyed at how long they have spent in the studio but it may have seriously paid off if these two are to go by. They both sound like a departure from what they have previously released.

Courteeners we stand i would agree it was a lot more subdued than many gigs i have been to for the courteeners crowd wise, was the obvious beer fuelled couple of times it kicked off but nothing as mad as it was at haigh hall or delamere! actually thought it wasnt "that good" a performance from the band but what a hard act it was to follow after cast blew the place away. major complaint was the bar, bloody nightmare inbetween the view and cast and near riot there due to bar staff being fairly incapable of serving people rather than arguing and bickering between themselves... and why did they decide half way through to stop you letting you take bottles into the crowd from the bottle bars when everyone was able to for most of the day?

When you say dickheads what do you mean?
Me and my friend went we're both 18 and 19 but we didn't really cause any fuss, we both had a few drinks and just enjoyed the whole day.
Do you mean the younger people in general or just people that are too pissed and are looking for a fight? I did witness a couple of little scuffles that were ridiculous, one between two lads and the other between two girls.
Do you class the people who get involved in attempted mosh pits dickheads? I'm just curious to understand what type of people you class as dickheads?
Overall i enjoyed the day! Thought the lads were great and Liam was looking ecspecially cool with his new barnet! Role on September and another great album!

Bloody hell, how good were the lads on Saturday?! I thought they were proper on top form and absolutely nailed it!! Swear they get better and better every time I see them!! The new songs were sounding immense, very, very excited to hear the new album! Roll on September! And, of course the older songs were great, as ever! It was good to hear That Kiss live again too, top track! Courteeners gigs are always epic, fair enough you might be stood covered in beer and piss, with some 'skinhead, who can't handle his booze' next to you, but they truly are an amazing live band and like 'Ganglord' said, you shouldn't let it get in the way of you enjoying some of the best gigs of your life!!! Are many people planning on heading down to the Olympic torch gig on Saturday? Should be a good do!

I was well up for going on Saturday. Seeing the torch in itself will be a pretty nice thing to do and obviously the added bonus of a free gig from the courteeners. But it looks touch and go now.
If they play new tunes, would be nice if someone who is there could get them on video. I'd like to give them a listen in their current form until we get something official, specially as they seemed quite different from the apollo gigs - or was that just me? Nothing seems to have surfaced from Chester which is a shame.
