I think too many people would 100% a lyric quiz, it needs to be something that seperates people.

Here's a post from a while back when I brought up the idea for a St. Jude Live CD as the next forum release but that never took. Also looking at it now, I think St. Jude has been milked to death for the previous CD/DL releases. Anyway, maybe I could use the series of competition's idea being worked on from that. Can we come up with 24 competitons? To carry on with the idea of a series of competitions to win a copy of the next forum CD "St. Jude Live", here's the suggestions so far: - Wallpapers
- Avatars
- "St. Jude Live" Cover
- Review (original / not already in the Review Panel)
Other things I have thought about: Hmmm Poems and that... maybe just have one entry for anything covered in the Thoughts board?!? Could have a nice easy entry for the Suggestions board where you just have to suggest an idea for the forum and the best/or any I use win a CD. I don't think Audio/ Video would bring many entries to make a download or a proper DVD, so I'll probably leave those boards out. Bringing in the Documentation board may be a good thing, for example have the compo as a submission thing where you can send scans/digitalised articles from newspapers etc Also can have tickets, gig posters, anything like that. Would be nice to have a decent history of everything the band has done. Same again with the Unofficial/Bootlegs board, have submissions and this would be a good way to get more content into the board. Errr... I know it's boring but what about "how to" guides for the forum... here's a few suggestions... How to burn mp3's on a disc / extracting mp3's from a RAR file. How to post an avatar/signature in your profile or a full guide to pimping your profile. Loads to go at really! Phew! That's all so far, let me know what you think or have any other ideas.... Cheers It's just a case of breaking down the forum and seeing what boards/sub-boards could be used as compo's etc Definately think they should be aimed at areas of the forum that don't get updated much, like Artwork, Documentation, Unofficial/Bootlegs & New Members. I'd give out a DVD to someone who could write a good simple but effective guide to the forum, rules (like abuse and porn etc), boards, posting, setting up your profile, etc etc etc Yeah, it's something I've put off for nearly 3 years!! I just don't have the time or like doing that kind of stuff ;D I think I'm gonna find this easy, just find things I don't want to do or have the time to do and set a compo for it, easy

Thanks Rach, I haven't had time to do the all proof prints but hopefully they'll look as good in print. I'll attack that this coming weekend, I'm working towards being all finished and ready for release before the end of September & I think I'll leave the download version until we've released the physical copy

Not much to report back on the progress, thinks it's going to be later than I first thought. Long hours at work and loads of personal stuff have prevented me from working on this until today. Got all the proofs printed, loads of fine tuning to do after seeing the DVD all made in physical form! Click images for larger views (external links) Looks good in the collection...The back cover & badge are ok, the insert needs refining a little, disc artwork didn't cover the whole disc so I need to set up a better template and maybe the spine band logo is a bit too big & the S&C 004 text need to be horizontal. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the front cover. The front cover seems a bit sparse and a bit amateurish, I know I'm only playing at the designing game but I think I'm getting a feel of what looks good now. What do you lot have to say about the front cover?Do you think the logos are too big? Does it need more? Maybe add an information sticker to fill the black space under the guitar? What else do you think should be added/changed? Any suggestions, comments and criticism is always welcome

yeah it suits the simplistic look to be honest. It looks like something they might do themselves almost.
