This could be a long shot but seeing as though we all follow the band and a large majority of us are big music fans, how about the members of the forum recording a cover track of the band's songs or a couple of tracks if we have the time.
We may not have massive numbers but I'm sure there are a select few who can play and would be willing to participate in a cover of the band's songs. Surely we have some budding guitarists, drummers, bass players and producers out there!
It wouldnt happen overnight but I'm sure over a few months we could all record individual parts and then eventually get them all mixed together. We could even add a few little parts to the song and try something different that the courteeners didnt, I know I would be more than interested and if a few were then I think it would be a laugh.
Another option would be a group of us working together to write an original song that is Courteeners related. If we had the time, we could go to town get someone to make a video and put it on YouTube as advertising for the site.
Any suggestions for the idea or interest would be greatly received.

I think its an excellent idea! I'm doing AS music tech, so I have access to a studio on a regular basis and a basic knowledge (at the moment) if you ever needed someone to mix tracks,
Although I am a pianist and a singer, so could easily add keys to the tracks that have it, like YODID

I have to admit it stems from me playing and not being in a band, I'm itching to play with other people and this seems like a good way to do that.
I'd be very proud too if we could make a good effort and put our on twist on it and dare i say it......do some things better. Who knows, it may attract attention of the band.
The hardest part would be producing and mixing the track, but by the sound of it Rosie you could play a big part in that. Glad its got plenty of interest though.

Also Rita your covers are amazing, you have a very, very good voice.
Your cover of The Doberman is special, your voice really suits the song. I am unbelievably impressed.

To start lets float some ideas. Who is interested definitely? Who can and wants to play what? And what shall we try and crack and how are we gonna go about it?

I'm definitely interested. I think we should start by choosing one song first, and then decide how we want to do it and who plays what? Each one records separately their part and then we put everything together! But for that, we need the main instrument to be done first, so all the rest can be based around that...

I'd be happy to sing if you wanted a female twist, or play piano. Could even chuck in some ukulele skills if they were needed...
And you're welcome to use my (limited) knowledge on mixing from my AS that im studying in music tech.

I actually like the idea of the female voice, it means it would be different rather than just being a cover.
