Have you heard of The Ark? It's on online magazine which focuses on British bands who haven't had the press they deserve, the journalists who write for The Ark have taken it upon themselves to change that. arkmag.co.uk/Currently the London edition is lacking in writers, so if you're based in London and interested in music journalism then send an email to Echo (yours truly) at london@arkmag.co.uk with why you're interested and you could have your name up in lights! (well, HTML...) It's a great chance to pursue journalism dreams or getting guestlist passes to some of the best independent London acts about. Terribly sorry if this sounds like spam, I'd love to get some new writers on board (and if it's any consolation I really do love The Courteeners. Saw them live @ Brixton, top gig.) - Echo

The idea is that the magazine has several regions around Britain in order for the people in those regions to learn about new bands in that area. Whereabouts do you live?

I live in Chester but I'm more into the Manchester scene. Does this have anything to do with Jon McClure by the way?

If you live in Aberdeen but are far more into what's happening in Brighton then you wouldn't be able to write for the Brighton issue, simply because the magazine is so hands-on. We send our writers to a lot of gigs and interviews, you couldn't be going to 3 London gigs every month if you lived in Burnage. Well, technically you could but that's effort. @ spiralxstatic; There's a Preston issue arkmag.co.uk/c/regions/preston/ but I think it's got enough writers. You could always email Gareth on preston@arkmag.co.uk tho. It's worth a try. sean; Technically The Ark does have something to do with Jon McClure in that it's his idea, but between you and me he's not really got anything to do with it.

Well I'm more into the Manchester scene in that I regularly travel down to Manchester for gigs, and it's not that much hassle for me.
