I've only heard "I never wanted to" so couldn't comment. But it wouldn't surprise me if he has 'recycled' that song...

Technically, no it isn't.
When Liam did that version for XFM he combined both Yes, She Came Around Yesterday and Hooray For The 21st Century by The Libertines but also changed a bit in the middle to his own lyrics. With I Never Wanted To he's used (similiar?) chords from Yes, She Came Around Yesterday and combined them with his own lyrics. Hopefully that made sense haha
These lyrics:
"She lured me in with the city centre apartments and dry rise smile (?) and the way she approached our language with such precision and ease I stood enchanted at the frame of the door she went "get in you burke, put your coat on the floor get into that kitchen start chopping up these please"
Were never used by Fretwell and just added by Liam.
