Same, I struggled to get Lullaby at the start. Sycophant, lyrically, is one of the best I've ever heard too. 'You can say what you want, we could not care less, cos' we are us not you' < Such a simple lyric but one of the best I've ever heard.

That's it Sean. I write great song lyrics on my walls in my room, already written that, simple, yet perfect. So perfect.

I think the best thing to say is hats off to the lads, brilliant work. Every song is can be related too, it's come straight from the heart and it shows in the record. Some of the reviews particularly from the likes of Guardian/Times/FT are unnecessarily harsh. They could do with removing themselves from the arses of the Arctics for a moment or two and write a decent review other than standard Gallagher-related dross. YAWN! I don't know what more they want from the band, Liam's lyrics are genius, the band complement eachother so well. I could guarantee, if Alex Turner was the man on the mic, all the reviews would be like "this is the best thing i've ever heard". I'm struggling to pick a favourite but The Opener, Sycophant, Will it be this way for forever are getting the most plays. I love Liam's honesty in Lullaby and Last of the Ladies.. argh this album is too good. Apologies as this is abit of an essay, I could write all day but i shall stop now. Top work lads

Falcon from the start to finish is very strong. The Opener is an excellent track to kick the album off, reminds me of a cross between What Took You So Long? and then towards the end of the song, Not Nineteen Forever. Take Over The World, Good Times Are Calling or Sycophant could easily be the next big single. Cameo Brooch also seems to be one of the stronger songs on Falcon although I don't think it'll be a future single. Scratch You Name Upon My Lips sounds like a progression of Trying Too Hard To Score, probably the most different song on Falcon. Will It Be This Way Forever finishes Falcon off perfectly with a massive sound. I really hope Falcon gets the credit it deserves, it is a lot stronger than St. Jude and a lot stronger than anything else around at the minute. So far I couldn't find a fault.

Wasn't keen on Lullaby, Cameo, scratch and last of the ladies when I heard them last night,
but listening in a better mood at a humanly time of the day they sound brilliant.

managed a view listens on my lunch break, The Opener is superb. Lullaby sounds good, i feel disappointed with Good Times & Sycophant, from hearing them live I was mad for them but these versions sound to different. maybe i will begin to like them the more i listen, and could be a case of seeing your christmas presents before christmas day. I just think they would sound better with the St Jude production, the raw sound. and before you start ant, even Liam Fray said on that album chart show that St Jude was raw. I like Last of The Ladies to.

know what you mean about sycophant and good times, but still love them.
for me though, revolver has really benefited from the polish.

Yeah I agree, I get a little bit of Elbow from it as well, and I think a certain Mr Fray has definitely fallen head over heels either before or whilst writing the album... some massive stand out tracks already that I can't get out of my head... The Opener, Sycophant, Take Over The World, The Rest of The World Has Gone Home, Last of the Ladies... I seriously could not find a bad track last night, or even a mediocre one.
I feel like we are all in on a massive secret, I want to shout and tell the world... The Courteeners have arrived!!! ;D ;D
(Sorry if over the top - but you all know what I mean)

All songs become lovely as soon as you've heard them again and again! I'm really amazed! St.jude is great but Falcon doesn't lag I fell in love with all the songs! Great!

If The Courteeners were to release 2 more singles off Falcon what do you
1) want them to release?
2) think they will actually release?
Judging by what you've heard from Falcon.
