thankfully it looks like being in the top 10. if it were to fall outisde of this, you would wonder whether the label would back them for another album.

As far as I can see falcon has dropped out of top ten on iTunes, hopefully someone can prove me wrong though!

Decent slot really, I think we all get a bit caught up in it at times, but 6 is top for a band on their level, better than what the Cribs and Babyshambles etc get, top work all

number 6 is good, tour coming up to promote it, and will no doubt sell well throughout the summer ...festival slots etc, the courteeners are the ones to save me, they are, they are..

florence only got to number 1 after the brit awards but her album was released months ago. all it would take is some prominent slots at the top festivals & they could make it to number 1 at some point this year.

I don't think that's very likely, can you see them selling more albums in any other week than the week of release? Florence and The Machine have been knocking around the top of the charts because the album basically got relaunched with a very popular single about a month ago. Number 6 is a good achievement taking all into consideration (lack of record sales at the moment + the fact it was the brit awards recently), I think it would be hard for anybody to compete with the likes of Lady Gaga and that crappy Glee thing when they are massive American acts on massive labels. The tunes are being plugged time and time again on telly (mainly channel 4 crap). Their sort of fans are the people buying in supermarkets and downloading after seeing them on telly, so they'll get good sales all year round. Its a completely different kettle of fish. With the way fans of bands like Courteeners are, I think the bulk of purchases would have been made this week or on pre-order. Maybe a mini-surge after a good festival performance + tour, but nothing too mental. Does anyone know what chart position St. Jude was in its 2nd week?
