taken from nme. just say what your best and worst musical moments of 2009 are.
best : quite a few. hearing bloc partys the prayer live was stunning. as was realising i was one of the lucky few to get muse tickets for teignmouth. i think muse debuting MK Ultra in birmingham and then NOT playing it at the o2 the next made my year.
worst: kasabian @ 53 degrees with food poisoning in tow. never mind that a band that big has never done that venue and probably never will again, missed half of one of my favourite bands including fast fuse, club foot, empire, lsf etc cus i had to walk home puking all the way. seeing them in november and having my phone pinched did little to fix this.

Best: Seeing the courteeners @ warrington, so good. Also this is the first year i've been to any festivals, so they were definately a high, if you get the chance go.
Worst: IAB splitting up, gutted at that.

Best: Seeing Oasis at Wembley & Torquay getting promoted at Wembley (I know it's not music, but it was a highlight) Worst: Oasis splitting, not being able to go to V-Festival.

Sam, they were shocking at V Festival, from a un-bias view. Sounded terrible.

Best: Glastonbury, my first festival and what a weekend it was. That and the Courteener's Liverpool Weekend, which were some of the best gigs I've ever been to, let alone this year.
Worst: All the problems with Morrissey's "Tour of Refusal." Though the bulk of dates were superb affairs, the tour was plagued with health problems culminating in his collapse onstage in Swindon, cancellations, and Morrissey having a bottle thrown at him onstage in Liverpool.
I toyed with the idea of putting Oasis' split in the "Worst" section, however it was probably a good thing. Noel can move on and the timing was right, and with the self proclaimed "Summer of Bigness" they'd influenced hundreds of thousands of young people to hopefully start bands and get further into music and that.

Best: Either Oasis at Heaton Park or Xfm Winterwonderland when Liam and Miles Kane played that smiths cover, I was crying, or the Courteeners at Manc Central, or The Cribs at Manc Apollo, they were yet again sterling.
Worst: Either bye bye Oasis or having no Courteeners album for yet another year

Really though Luke, I fucking love some Oasis stuff, but wasn't it getting a little monotonous since Be Here Now, hense why it's in the 'best' list. You really liked the smiths cover Lizzy? It was a kick up the arse compared to the first attempt, which was poor, I quite liked it but didn't have hairs on my back standing up like, only Courteeners song that's ever done that is WTYSL/ Tommorow and Sycophant, still not convinced by the Smiths cover, perhaps they should try something else another time, Roses or soemthing

Best: seeing Courteeners at Leeds academy New Years Eve, then again at Liverpool academy in February. seeing Oasis both nights at Heaton Park. seeing Kasabian & NIA Birmingham, and then staying over & watching Artic Monkeys the following night & same venue. and then finishing the year off by seeing Courteeners at manchester Central.
Worst: none that i can think of?

Yeah,I thought it was quaility, I think the Courteeners would do a good cover of the La's or something like that.

I've always wanted that, despite the fact that I worship the La's and they may kill a tune, I'd like to see it. 'Failure' perhaps may sound good because Liam doesn't have to re-create Lee's falsetos or anything he can just shout. Think it would have to be a harder tune rather than a rhythmy/ diddley type tune, simply because it would fit the bands natural sound better. Anyway...
