Nice one for starting this Andy I had a look through all the pages and this is the first ever thread for new bands! The Rapture have been going since 2003 (??) got their first 2 albums and thought they had some top tunes back then but not heard any new stuff for a while. Same with me, haven't got a clue who most of the bands were on those bands to watch/best albums/etc lists, so I thought I'd have a bit of a search. Crocodiles (San Diego) - Quite liked these Veronica Falls - Ok could be a grower Wolf Gang - Not keen Is Tropical - One song stuck in my head but can't remember the title Knight School - Undecided on these until heard more Don't know if these bands have been mentioned, just stuff that came up when looking at blogs I've seen cb mention Egyptian Hip Hop - What are these like?

Faunts - M4 EP - not bad really, 5 songs on the EP, very ambient and mysterious...one song on their "M4 Part II" is fantastic, others - bit wierd like but not bad M83 - Saturdays = Youth - bought this due to glowing recommendation - and glad I did, wiki says its electronica/dream pop - which it sort of is, but def got that indie pop thing going too - really really good record and waiting for albums from Crystal Antlers, Crystal Stilts, Deluka, The Horrors, The Drums and Animal Collective and the ones I am waiting for all down to good reviews from the year its wierd doing it this way rather then the usual...hear a single on radio a month before the record is out, overplay the single to f*ck, and by the album and prob like it - this way there is a chance I might hate it buts a different way of doing things...... ;D

The Drums are looking promising, posted about them but didn't get much response. I'm also tipping, Egyptian Hip Hop, HURTS, Ellie Goulding, Two Door Cinema Club and Little Comets. And Marina & the Diamonds.

Not heard anything by two door cinema club.
Listened to EHH the other day and was quite impressed with the song Dust, will definitely look into them more.
The Drums didn't offend me after a few listens but need to hear more.
Anyone mentioned Frankie & The Heartstrings?? They sound alright.

Yeah mate the Drums ep is top, got the promo and cd versions Something Good Can Work is what got me into two door cinema club but listen to their new tune, something special. takeabeating.blogspot.com/2010/01/best-bets-for-2010.html called I Can Talk. Saw Frankie & the Heartstrings in NME, big article about them. Sounded like pricks with the stuff they said, cocky and that. I'm sure they said something about the 'teeners, not sure though. However, their tune 'Possibilities' is alright I suppose.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - can't stop listening to their album! They've got the whole shoegaze/C86 thing that I'm a massive fan of. They know how to use that bloody distortion pedal! Seriously, it's a brilliant little album and I'd thoroughly recommend it. A lot of good stuff coming from the Big Apple at the moment...
A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Slow Club, Pens, Pants Yell!, Future of the Left, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Atlas Sound, Why?, Blank Dogs...
I'd pretty much put them all in the same 'indie' bracket, except maybe Slow Club, who are folk, but they're all equally brilliant.
