saw these in liverpool last night. the band were as great as i expected but the crowd was abit poor, not that they werent going mad for it but you could tell alot of people there didnt do gigs outside of oasis and now kasabian. took alot of elbows to the face in the pit and if you fell over nobody picked you up. say what you like about emo music or whatever but the fans are alot better. also some bin dipper robbed my phone, not impressed with that. urgh.

I went to the gig last night too
As a venue I can't stand the echo arena, every time I've been they seem to get the sound wrong, could hear the relay from the stage to the speakers at the back and it was doin my head in - add to that the shit crowd
Kasabian were mega, loved the stage too haha but it reminded me of the KOL gig I went to at the MEN, so many fans there because of the more recent album (which is understandable I guess), crowd were alright for the well known songs fire/LSF/Empire etc but when ID/The Doberman/ Stuntman (arguably some of their best songs) came on nobody knew em so the atmosphere was shit as good as kasabian were
Tom tried his bollocks off to get a reaction from the crowd but nobody knew the lyrics and couldn't sing em back when he wanted them to, think it put him off at times
That aside I really enjoyed the gig just wish they could still play smaller venues!

My only gripe was It didnt sound loud enough, I was bang center near front so maybe the sound was going over me. Other than the pints and warmer stuff being lashed it was a decent gig. Nice warm up band as well, enjoyed that. Man them sniffer dogs scared the shit outta me sorry bout your phone...didnt you read the big sign on the screen warning of pickpockets?

agreed. wish the crowd was better The Doberman and Stuntman!
and yeah but given i was pretty active didnt expect it to happen. my own fault for being naive, but still a big kick in the nads, im in a long distance relationship so its a real pain in the ass.

nah man it was great really n ive been dying to see them properly for ages. saw them at big weekend and supporting muse and then had to leave 53 degrees with food poisoning so ive been really needing to see them headlining like.
truth be told though, they just dont have the variety of muse but they dont have the blatant stupidity of green day either. felt like something is missing from them. just a feeling cus the tunes are great.

Got to say the crowd in Newcastle were class - well up for it....well apart from these lads near us who were about 15 and totally wrecked pushing ppl for no reason...two of them in particular..
They soon disappeared after we growled at them a few times....no one wants to upset girls from boro! My boyfriend saw one of them get punched later on through the crowd.
other than that everyone was spot on!

Just read a review of Kasabian's gig in Newcastle last night. Reverend and the Makers did support and Noel Gallagher came out and played a few songs with Kasabian. Noel Gallagher never did that Noel Fielding came out at Wembley and in Dublin but no Gallagher. He was side of stage however at MEN I caught two dates of this tour (Wembley & Bournemouth) was amazing! Particular highlights - noel fielding, rev&the makers coming out and dancing with us during kasabian, hearing I.D. for the first time live and Jay giving me his setlist ;D Brought tickets to see them in Paris next year, cannot wait!!!!

So, we're a day off of the release of Velociraptor! Anyone already heard it? I've got it pre-ordered so I should have it for the day it comes out. I'm less excited as I was for the 3rd album to be honest, unsure why.

I've heard it and its nothing like I could have expected in parts and then just what I was expecting in others. I really enjoyed it and even if your not a big fan of it Sean, the least it will do is give you a surprise.

Really unsure what to expect. There's been so many albums out this month I've not really been thinking about it much. I think it's always best to listen to an album with no clue what to expect anyway.
