It’s the smallest things in life That please us all. The way there are always two tea mugs By my bed After you have left. The way you love my dogs but avoid my cat. The excitement reflected in your face When you see two Shooting stars And I only see one. The way you refuse to pick me up from work Purely because of the parking. But are happy enough to drive five extra miles to get me from home. The way you’ve spent the last three months Worrying about boys on my tail. And now it’s my turn. The innuendos associated with you car. ‘We all love to give phoebe a sponge down’. The way you read my letter from before we were together And did nothing but kiss me. The way you know when I need you, When I need myself. Or when I need no one at all. I love the way you know me. The way you know you can support me. The way you stop me. I love that you love me.

I don't want to sound rude, you know my views on poetry, and how I think it is written, but I don't understand. That just seems to be a story, about you and a lad, problems you may or may not have had. No meaning, nothing to think about. I don't understand anything that you do, sorry, maybe you can enlighten me, but I just don't understand it...

the thing is, poetry isn't about what other's get out of it. It.s a totally selfish art. There isn't a lot to understand in this poem. It is very presaic and matter of fact. As for the poetry itself, yes it is very prose like, but it.s only because i.ve not rhymed it. And you know i'm not a fan of rhyming. The thing is poetry should be instantaneous. I wrote this in about ten mins. And it.s come from my heart. It means something to me. i dom't write to impress, i write to express. And sorry if my typing is bad. I'm on my phone... :-P

Nicely put, it is selfish, and though this was a good explanation, you didn't really have to explain yourself, but I still don't get it, just me, I can understand that maybe the things you do are for you and only your eyes, but Luke seems to understand and like them alot, is there something that I am missing. Really confused, but you know me.

ummm. I dunno really. Maybe it.s because some of them are very muse-like. Haha. I dunno. This one isn't so good. He probably won't like it. I dunno really. I just write when i want to or when i think of something. So yeah. Maybe luke should answer that question. But i think it.s just an alternative style i guess. And more imagery. A bit more abstract than your stuff perhaps? I dunno.

It just winds me up, how I don't get it, I feel like I'm missing something. It's the way that Luke says that your stuff is better than mine aswell, though I do respect you and other poets, I can't get my head round it, and why my stuff is not as good as yours, it frustrates me.

You're not causing problems, no one is. Anyone who posts on here is brilliant, think, only 3 of us regularly post and we all need to (though I'm on a break). We are different, I don't get yours, maybe people don't get mine, they definitely don't get my concept of 'catching'. It just frustrates me that we have been ranked, particularly when we are 2 completely different writers/ catchers or whatever we are. We shouldn't be ranked, post what you do, if we get it then so be it, we all know what we do and why we do it. Whatever, you don't want me on a rant about the shit I see and hear, catching and what not. I don't know, keep posting, people do get it, my opinion is minimal, I'm going wacky whilst chasing perfection, so don't listen to me. Do post though, we do need you.

i understand what you mean by catching. I just dom't agree with it with regards to myself. But i wish you luck. as for ranking. I don't think we.re being ranked. It.s only luke who's really commented and he's just in it for the muse factor. :-P x

The muse factor. Can't blame him though, I am for La's as he is for Muse, a love is a love. I just wish it was easier to get my message across, if someone gave me a day to do so then I would, it needs sorting. Sometimes you feel like you're dealing with Bungle and Zippy, no one takea it serious enough. There is alot to be done, anot to be changed, and poems are the way to change it, so everyone needs to understand my ways so that they can understand my poems, someone has to use poetry as a catalyst to change the world, music has been a catalyst, so why can't poetry be one aswell?? It's not just about getting acroiss how I feel, it't a universal feeling, even the homeless and te insane can understand, if they just take the take to understand the theory.

like to clarify ant, its not that she is better i just prefer her style. alot of the time i cant relate to it which i like, it does tell a story rather than say something universal in her case, the finer details are what gives her her style and helps her create an image, i think she lends alot more from laura marling than muse but i love laura marling so that probably helps. didnt mean to cause offence because i enjoy yours alot. you over estimate the power of poetry though, it can have a profound effect on any single person, but in todays age, will never change the world. i also understand what you mean by catching, i just think its a little bit over the top way of describing that feeling we get when we come up with a great couplet.

Thanks for clarifying that, was confused as to why we where being compared I probably do over estimate the power of it, changing the world could happen, it has the potential, but like you say, in this day and age no one would take the time to read or listen, post of earths people are too lazy It could happen though if everyone wasn't so ignorant, which frustrates me. If I was to be realistic and not egotistical about it, then to change one person, and the way they think would be a start, it's just about building from there. The problem is that people worship possesion, and digital/ plastic things, when really they should be worshiping the light, and what it tells them, they'd understand things better then. I am up in the clouds, but I like it up here, I get a good perspective, and I can set rediculously high standards EDIT: On the catching, it is true, you don't think about it, well I don't, they float by and knock you on the head, the hard bit is bringing it down and tracing it into paper and keeping it in fine form. My case
