Too much Elbow for my liking. But the rest - wicked! Especially The Strokes. I'm really into them atm.

you dont get a mosh pit at an elbow gig. not every gig needs one. elbow have upbeat tunes as well. People just dont bother finding them out.
got to love the strokes. Their debut album is a class album. Have u got it? Its a must have. my itunes deleted itself about 18 months ago so prob not the fairest reflection. actually the bands that feature heavily are spot on

I got some torrent from mininova that was the whole discography and didn't find much enjoyment in it but maybe that's just personal opinion though. Did see them performing Grounds For Divorce somewhere and they looked ace live and I was really into that song. Bought One Day Like This too but just didn't get into the rest of it :/

ive listened to both elbow albums, its just not my thing atall. instead of watching elbow i went to see The Human League ? with my dad, were better than elbow and i dont know any of there tunes hah Elbow have 4 albums cb. Asleep in the back Cast of THousands Leaders of the Free World Seldom seen Kid. I can understand they are not everyones cup of tea. No band caters for everyone. The Beatles have their critics. However, people are giving the Arctics new album a good listen as they believe it is a grower. Elbow are very much in this vain as well. People who are just into stuff like the cribs, courteeners, arctics etc etc are not going to like elbow, and probably never will. But if your tastes are more diverse then you will. If you break the songs down you might appreciate them more. For example take guy Garveys lyrics as one componant. Unbelievable. Beautiful. Clever. He has everything as a lyricist and can paint imagery amazingly. Liam fray, when talking about one of the courteeners new songs says that it is a bit like something guy would write, 'should I be so bold to say'. The man who brought you too this site hold him in high esteem as well. Then take the tunes as another companant. Many are slow paced but that doesnt mean they are not enjoyable. The music they compose is beautiful. Then put them together and you have something magic. I understand some things are just not for some people. I jst think you need to give them more of a listen. The new album is brilliant. Work your way backwards through the albums if you want to give it a go. Get Leaders of the Free World next. Top album .
