So City's sigining's are ready for retirement n past there prime?? It's funny that players like Tevez are all of a sudden past it, when last yr it was fergie sign him up!!
Why wouldn't any club need Tevez, Adebayor, Robinho n Santa Cruz??? Most top clubs have 4 class strikers!

not necessarily as a final paycheck before retirement. it's clear now that robinho thought he was going to chelsea initially, so he's only stayed at city for the cash. it's also been revealed that adebayor's agent was desperately phoning Utd and Chelsea on the eve of his signing for city, because he didn't want to go to city. Barry said he wanted Euro football, so why leave Villa for City? Money.
Unfortunately for city fans, and i do feel sorry for them because they are genuinely some of the best fans going, they've got a bunch of mercenaries who previously had no idea that there was another club in manchester.

im a preston fan so you can assume im bring objective, my point was, if you sign a 28/29 year old down from bigger clubs, santa cruz and barry excluded, then its obviously for the money. adebayor was doing fine and tevez will get less first team football than he did at united. and liverpool only have 2, and thats if you include gerrard. edit: as if things couldnt get worse for pompey lmao msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5474160,00.html hilarious stuff

There was 'rumour' Adebayor's agent had rang them. Nothin offical was said about it. Come on Arsenal seem to be on the decline the way they are going. I mean does it not make any sense that these players can see the potencial that is at City to achieve something?? Im sure Elano would have told Robinho who he was signin for aswell! Anyway rant over, Im well lookin forward to the season!

yes of course but the point is, the first wave of people that sign for this type of thing usually end up worse off? scott parker, damien duff, adrian mutu, hernan crespo, shevchenko, deco, all for chelsea and there is surely some i miss. adebayor im fairly sure will fall into that category, as will santa cruz, and probably barry. but i think toure could be good?
n your not finishing fourth.

I was amazed when it dawned on me today that the season starts today, shocked, and premier league next week. Though I as a Liverpool fan doesn't really have much to look forward to, feel very pessimistic, and I'm just sick of all the money really, putting me off football. And for the record, no City won't finish 4th, unless Tevez and Adebayor fancy starting full backs

I don't recon city will get in the top 4, but I also can't see Arsenal doing too much....they're selling all their best players, without signing quality replacements. Give it 2 years, and the prem will be way more open..... Most of Chelsea's key players are around the 30 mark, and looking at the signings they have made over the past 2/3 years, it doesn't look too good. In the next 1/2 years they will have to splash out on some big players who are in their prime, just like they did when Abramovich first arrived. I can always see Utd challenging for the title, then Liverpool knocking around in the top 4. But with Chelsea ageing and not spending, City signing fat cats and Arsenal cashing in (paying off the new stadium) the top spots in the league will be well open in the next few years. Blackburn for the champions league!
